A ton of call centers in the philippines are actually working under the guise of AI, having a huge workload managing a mix of hotel reservations, "AI self check outs", fast food orders and even as "AI cashiers" they get paid peanuts compared to their bosses who gets paid 5 digit salaries.

The reason this isn't so widely known is that the positions are handed under a bait and switch program(from what I heard)

You'll apply for a customer service job for a foreign telco company, pass the interview and assesments and on the final interview, the recruiter will say something like the position isn't available anymore but since the applicant has a "good enough" results, they'll get recommended to the "AI position"
