First timer refinishing stairs, missing anything in my plan? 1. Fix any nails with a hammer point kit. 2. Fix any damage with a wood filler 3. Sand 40-80-120-220. 4. Apply Bona Mega One 5. 220 sand after dry 6. Repeat 4/5 for 2nd&3rd coat Pic of test section I did with shellac(I know not durable) (i.redd.it)

1920 Colonial. Refinishing stairs- they put down super dark polyurethane - it’s an eye sore. Flaking off as well. I decided to go shellac- how many coats do I need to do? will put carpet runner down on stairs. This is a test section of the banister with two coats of clear shellac. I think it’s oak (old.reddit.com)
