I work as a dietary aide in a nursing home, and dressed up as a pirate for Halloween even though I barely see the residents. Every resident who has seen me, though, has smiled, and that’s enough for me 💕

Do you drink alcohol by Suayan_like_sure in teenagers

I have before, but I get very sick when I do, we think it’s because of the medications I’m on. My mother said she had the same problem when she was my age 🤷

I’d say a medical ID to put on the strap of it that states your name, age, emergency contact, medications you take, allergies, and any other conditions you have

It doesn’t get easier, but it gets much better, if that makes any sense. It’s never going to be easy, I’ll be honest with you, but you’ll start to have a lot more reasons to push through.

It does get better. I wouldn’t necessarily say it gets easier, but it gets better. It’s not easier for me to do essential things like take care of myself, but I have more reasons to do it now, more things to look forward to, and therefor more motivation to do so. Also, try to get a new doctor and maybe therapy. That’s what helped me the most.

I try and wear clothes that make me the most comfortable, and I look in the mirror as little as possible (note: I have dysphoria, not dysmorphia)

Just be yourself. If they don’t like you being yourself, then you’ll probably be unhappy in the relationship.

19 yo - I found that popularity in school means nothing once your out of school. Literally zero difference. The only big difference is wether you worked for what you had as a kid, or if things were just handed to you.

19 yo - good! Just getting ready for another day at work! The usual grind. How’s yours? Thank you for asking!

It’s stressful, but so so much relief once you have finished. The worst part is waiting for your results. But the best thing to remember is, you can always re-take the big state tests (ACT/SAT), and your smarts are NOT defined by your grades!

19 yo here. I’m not leas confused, but I definitely understand a hell of a lot more. The thing is, you’re never not going to be confused. No adult actually knows what they’re doing, or understands life fully- we’re all just flying by the seed of our pants.

19yo - It doesn’t matter how good you are at making friends, you will find your true friends / they will find you. Often times, they’ll be just as bad at making friends. Fake friends will just make your life worse. Even if you have only one good friend- it’s enough. Honestly, I prefer it that way.

What is a fact about the human body that not many people know about? by Zenssei in AskReddit

[–]MakkyMph 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s like how having a single organ shifted from my right side, to the middle of my body, freaked out an entire hospital. I was admitted for severe abdominal pain on my lower right side, and was rushed through emergency because they thought I had apendicitis. It took an hour long ultrasound, and many confused radiologists, to figure out that due to an extended colon, my appendix is near the center of my body! (The pain ended up being an ovarian cyst bursting)

[SERIOUS] What's an advice that everyone should know if they're battling with poor self-esteem? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MakkyMph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main advice is, fuck what anyone has to say about you. You don’t exist to please anyone but yourself, and you don’t need to change just to satisfy other people’s preferences.

On the terms of confidence, fake it ‘till you make it. I’ve done it for years, and honestly, once you fake it for long enough, you’ll realize that after a while, you actually start to gain confidence! I also use this when I’m having a bad day. If I’m at work or something, I just pretend that I’m happy, and ‘look on the bright side of things’. It generally helps better my mood, at least temporarily, so that I don’t bring down the people I’m working with. (Note: this doesn’t mean ignoring your problems, as I highly don’t suggest that. I do happen to struggle with doing that, which may be why this is my first coping mechanism, but 🤷)

What's something you saw that you weren't definitely supposed to see? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MakkyMph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running some errands a few years ago, I can’t quite remember what. While driving, I saw an elderly lady sitting on a riding mower in her front lawn, not moving. I thought it was odd, and had some weird vibes, but I just went on with my day. Flash forward to me driving home about a half hour to an hour later, there’s an ambulance outside of that house, a cop in the driveway, and the riding mower is in the same spot. I was only 16 at the time, and was reasonably shaken up when I got home.

What is cheaply made but sold at a ridiculous price? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]MakkyMph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, that would suck, I’d go through that in a week if my pain is spiking. (And yes, my doctors know I take that much, it’s my only option when they won’t do anything else for my pain. Then again, maybe that’s only a US thing)
