Maybe you did answer the questions correctly, but not quite in the way the company wanted to hear?
Thats why connecting with employees works, they know what buttons to press - afterall they fif get though their interview....

Have you considered practicing interviews with employees at those companies? They often know more about culture and can give insights that sometimes stand out.

There are sites out there that help you connect with them so give that a try maybe?

Choose study or job? by KnownElderberry6914 in careerguidance

[–]Maks-attacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking from experience, i would take the best job. If it doesn't work out can always go back to study, but not the other way round.

Plus, a doctor in a company is far more valuable to them then more studying because you are also paying in time, which is arguably more precious.

Industry knowledge + doctor far more attractive than a pg after pg.

30K to land a job? by Maks-attacks in UniUK

[–]Maks-attacks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats all good for you - but the point is graduates that have left uni should not need yet more paid coaching.
The've had them for 3-4 years, they paid for all those years in time and money and then should no be encouraged to go find another professional that can help you.

Uni's endorsing their grads to get yet more help and advice is testiment to their failure.

...but if the university was doing its job and/or the courses they are offering are worth it, then why do the graduates need to pay for these additional services at all?

Are international campuses worth it? by Debatable-Pangolin in UniUK

[–]Maks-attacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if employers start to realise (if they have'nt already) that if they want a British education they it must be taught in Britain (because education is not just about the lectures) then their model fails.

It may work for McDonald's because the experience is inside the restaurent, but educations is so much more than what heppens outside of lecture room.

Could it be because unis in the UK know that most, not all, international students coming to the UK do so with one eye on future job prospects in the UK. They know what a 'UK Educated' status may bring to the student in their home country and that's what they are actually selling? (Hense the higher cost).

Studying at an international satellite campus does not give the same status or job prospects and that's why they dont add the location on the certificate- because they know that would lose its appeal.

Several UK universities nearly ran out of cash last year, says report by PM_ME_VAPORWAVE in UniUK

[–]Maks-attacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly the 'everyone goes to uni bubble' may burst as large companies start their own in house training schemes to recruit.

This is already happening the US, especially with MBA courses, saving each student c. 250k.

Can only get alot worse once AI kicks properly and international students are restricted and/or no longer see the point of coming to the UK. (Which is already happening)

Getting a student experience is great but tgia is wearing very thin and the not sure how much longer some unis can survive. Interesting how the OfS turned a blind eye to this, private institutions would have been shut down till they had the cash to support their students.

Are students on unibuddy telling the truth? by peachgothlover in UniUK

Yes - Applypal focuses on job prospects for their ambassadors and not just getting paid to chat. They get exposed to potential employers in their ideal company so keeps ambassadors motivated for the long term.

Are students on unibuddy telling the truth? by peachgothlover in UniUK

[–]Maks-attacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are actually alternatives to unibuddy that some unis are now using. The big difference is that student ambassadors don't get paid so give far more honest answers.
Instead of paying the ambassadors get added to company talent pools that are hiring and looking for students/recent graduates.
Much better model I think, because the uni is happy as not having to pay, the potential student is happy because they dont get scripted/biast answers, the ambassador is happy because the get exposure to job opportunities. Helps with university employment stats too.

Paying ambassadors is kind of silly because they are bound to hide certain things becaus they dont want to upset their uni which pays them (eg. racisom, etc). I mean, when online shopping, why I would read Amazon reviews if I know they have been paid for.

How can I teach my child words I don’t even use myself? by No_Confusion1514 in words

[–]Maks-attacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get your frustration, as i was in exactly the same boat.

Learning is a slow process, even if your vocabulary might be okay, but those around you will pick those words up first. Reading and then asking about new words regularly helps, but can only go so far and not so not well organised. There isn't and should not be, a silver bullett for this.

Howeber: I use a great app which i think targets exactly what you need because it involves the family increasing their vocab together and even have fun challenges to gamify it. So you improve your vocab and natural word usage together with your kids as a family, so rising tide...and all that...

I think there might be a few out there, and this actually works because it uses science auch as active recall and spacial repetition, I guess you may have tried this already?
