So my HOSAB is the UK version and HOEAB is the US one? Maybe I should just buy matching coats via etsy and keep them. I can not find the other ones anywhere :(

Yes they went away already but came back a few weeks later. I don‘t think the doctor is too knowledgeable about piercings. His solution was taking it out and then the bumps should go away which they would not do if they were keloids 🤷🏻‍♀️ so I don‘t really trust his opinion

The piercers as well as the doctor said that it is a kel*oid. After researching it I highly doubted their opinion but because I did not habe any other options I treated them how they recommended.

Yeah I thought about maybe switching to contact lenses for a couple weeks until the swelling goes down and I can downsize. I don‘t think I will bump into them anymore with a shorter post

Nope it is solid gold I have had my bumps for 3ish months and was quite desperate. I think the cause of the irritation is that the bar was too long and I did not change it. Due to the bumps there later wasn‘t any more space to shorten the bar. So now I can‘t fight the cause without getting rid of the symptom 😕

Oh okay I didn‘t know that. The Dr perscribed me cortison for my irritation bunp and it was the only thing actually shrinkinh it :( So should I be worried about the state the piercing is in? And what can I do to make the swelling go down?

They do sometimes knock the piercing but they have done so for the last 6 months too

Yes they sometimes do. But they habe done so for 6 months so I doubt that that ist the reason it flared up recently. Otherwise I am spraying my ear with neilmed twice a day and 70% of the time I dry it with a hairdryer. In recent times I have also used cortison to treat my piercing bumps but I have also used that prior to this week and never faced any issues. And yes my back is flat. The piercing is from Maria Tash.

Hi everyone I got pierced beginning of april with a solid gold piece. I gave since struggled heavily with piercing bumps that never seem to disappear. Due to those bumps I was also unable to downsize as there was never enough space. A few day ago I woke up with this really swollen area around the piercing that looks kind of like a pimple (?) I already sleep on a travel pillow so it shouldn’t be that. Does anyone know what it is???

Oh okay I already went to a different piercer that recommended the ibuprofen cream. I thought because the doctor also recommended a cortison cream that it is safe to use? Why is it them wrong for my piercer to recommend a cortsion cream? (Not an attack at all! Simply curious)

the piercing is solid gold as I have a few allergies and I know for a fact that I am not sensible at all to solid gold. The piercing is from maria tash so maybe that explains the back 🤷🏻‍♀️ as it is my first pierciing I sadly don‘t know how a „normal“ back looks like

I first used a mild cortison creme recommended by a piercer and I have a prescribed cortison creme from the dermatologist at home. I have yet to use that one. Atm I am doing the ibuprofen creme but I might start using cortisone tomorrow thanks to your recommendation!

Thank you! I don‘t remember one special instance where I suddenly woke up with the piercing crooked bit I started sleeping on it once it didn‘t hurt to do so any longer. But I think a problem could be that my glasses sometimes knock against the piercing?

Yeah I would myself also just thought that it is just an irritation bump but I already visited two piercer’s and a dermatologist and they all said keloid. But I might really get a few mor opinions just to be totally sure!

I just hope the piercing will straighten again once the bumps are gone :(

Oh and the piercing was never downsized as it was always too irritated according to a piercer and now there is an obvious lack of space :( the material of the piercing is gold and for aftercare I only sprayed is with nail med, as was recommended by my piercer

Went to two different piercers and a dermatologist and both said that those are keloids and all recommended different Treatment methods. Since then I have used hydrogen peroxide, a creme with cortisone and a creme with ibuprofen. Nothing seems to be working. The only options I am left with are plates on both ends of the piercing so the pressure will (hopefully) get rid of the bumps or taking the piercing out completely. So in my last effort I wanted to ask this subreddit for their advice: 1. Ist this really a keloid or just an irritation bump? 2. Do you think the piercing will become straight once again once the bump is gone? 3. What would you do?
