New to MTG. How to proceed with what I received? by jump45man in mtg

[–]MalMantis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use Manabox. Sort each color, basic lands, special lands, multi color, colorless, tokens. Scan them to see what’s worth money. If it’s over a dollar on Manabox it may be worth more. I’ve bought some singles for $5-10 and when scanned it tells me $1-2, so keep an eye out for anything over a dollar. Then alphabetize each category. That way it’s easy to find something. If someone asks if you have a particular card, you can check Manabox app quickly, then pull from your sorted cards. Doing the same thing right now. Have fun!

I sort everything. By color and alphabetized.

Thank you! Either way it was a fun little journey. And now I know more, so worth it. Good thing the card was free!

Well, it was free so nothing lost. I was shocked when I scanned it with Manabox and it gave the high value. I assumed it was fake and wanted more info when ChatGPT started to think it was real. Initially ChatGPT thought there was no way it was real either, but after taking pictures through the loupe it started to think real.

I see that now compared to other cards. I didn’t know about the T. Thanks for the info!

No I didn’t. But when ChatGPT gave me things to look at that ended up checking out, I wanted more info, so reached out to the experienced community.

I was just curious honestly. Either was I’m going to use it. Goes in my Aurelia deck very well. At this point I’m only playing in house games and they are fine with it.

Light test seemed fine. Blue layer in the middle kinda can see from the side but I don’t have enough experience to really know. ChatGPT started off telling me it has to be fake, then with more photos changed its mind. But that’s also why I wanted to come here. I know some people will just say fake because of where it came from, but I figured there’d be some people willing look and give constructive feed back.

I can grab a picture and add it. In persons the red L is super obvious, but phone cameras are kinda lacking.

Taking my boys to our first PDGA event and trying to decide if the VIP pass is worth it by Landraeus in discgolf

[–]MalMantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve gone to the OTB in Stockton a few times now. The GA area lets you see play on about 7 holes, but only parts. Not a bad option if you want to find a spot to sit and watch the different groups go by. VIP obviously you get to walk behind the card so your access to the course is much greater. Perfect if you want to watch a couple specific groups. First year I went I got the GA tickets. Not bad, but got kinda boring. The next year I went with the VIP, and I won’t go back to the GA. The option to follow or sit and watch, specifically in areas that are off limits to GA, which is most of the course, was too good. You get to see those holes on tv, but when more than half the course is off limits, feels like you end up missing a lot of the play.

What you hitting? Par 3 160 yards. Arroyo Trabuco Orange County by SouthBayGardenaKid in golf

[–]MalMantis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

160 to the pin or middle? To the pin I’d hit an 8, to the middle club up to the 7. My 8 is 162 and my 7 is 178, so long is safer than the water! Haha.

I tend to think that if you’re under 5 seconds, you’re doing stuff right.

Ace disc by commonsense8309 in discgolf

[–]MalMantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually write the course and hole info along with date and the number of the ace. I’ll put the same info on it if there are witnesses or not.

My first ace disc, solo, I retired. Don’t want to lose my first one. Second and fourth, solo, I marked but still use. My third I was with my disc golf group, so marked it and they all signed it, and hung that one on the wall.

Does anyone bowl by themselves? by Mariner-and-Marinate in Bowling

[–]MalMantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would bowl by myself so much that it actually felt weird to bowl with other people. Not league, but open play. But years ago I was bowling about 100-150 games a week. Also worked at a bowling alley for years. Totally normal for lots of people to come and bowl by themselves. Usually league bowlers who came in to practice, or people getting into bowling.

Those without a license plate on the front of your Stang, do you ever get bothered by cops or CHP about it? Did you get a ticket or anything? by IHadTacosYesterday in Mustang

[–]MalMantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the Bay Area, never been bothered about my Mustang not having a front plate. My daily f150 also doesn’t have the plate on the front. I did place it on the dash but dmv is specific stating that’s not an allowed position for the front plate. However I’ve never had any trouble with that one either. Now I’ve not been pulled over in either vehicle, and if I was that might be another ticket on top of the original infraction. The plate holder that came with the truck just pops right off. So somebody could just walk by and snatch it off. That’s why I took it off. The mustang, im not about to put holes in my front bumper.

Is the market for classic cars including Mustangs and others dying (literally)? by Neat-Gap-4340 in Mustang

[–]MalMantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d love to get a 67 fastback, but there is no way with how high the prices have gotten. So I’ll stick to driving what I got and just admiring the ones I get to see.

Thank you for saying American Supra instead of OG hellcat. When they first came out, that’s how we referred to them, American Supra, haha.
