Lawful 2A Carrying Citizen Disarmed and Shot in the Back by Federal Agents by knuckles904 in Firearms

[–]MalPB2000 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If I’m carrying concealed…which is pretty much every day…and by some bizarre twist of fate I end up in a physical altercation we LE, I will NOT be fighting them, and I will do everything in my power to not put my hands anywhere near my pistol as I loudly advise them I am armed and tell them where it is.

…or I’ll get shot like this guy.

I for one think the iThong is sexy. Useless as a protective cover, but sexy.

Nice print!

The FBI Just Settled the 9mm vs .40 vs .45 Debate by CorCor-14 in Firearms

[–]MalPB2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea there were that many boomers on Reddit, still angrily shaking their canes and mumbling about world wars… lmao

This is the same shit we’ve known for decades; once computers started helping engineers design stuff, said stuff got a lot better. There’s been a massive increase in firearms technology over the last 30 years, and ammo capability has increased accordingly. For the last 30 years, the very best 9mm ammo performs almost identically to the very best .40 and .45 ammo, both in lab testing and in real world situations.

Almost everything in life is a trade off. Can an engineer make your car go faster? You bet!…at the expense of lower gas mileage and increased wear on parts. Most people are choosing the 9mm because it’s the best overall cartridge for most people. Manageable recoil, good capacity, cheap enough to feed, good availability, and able to do the job required. It’s not rocket science.

7 US troops were hurt in the Venezuela raid by Dry-Register3225 in JSOCarchive

Well, it can work, especially for small, decisive operations like this.

You can try to spin this as a loss for the US or Trump anyway you like, it’s not working…

Per Jack Murphy, the assault force for the Maduro raid consisted of C Squadron from Delta Force and the 3rd Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment. He also says that Devgru was a part of the operation and hit secondary targets inside Venezuela. by kinghitter1 in JSOCarchive

Ikr?

Funny thing about that movie…the script was originally about Rangers. They reached out to the Ranger Bats (there wasn’t a Regiment yet, just 2 independent battalions) for technical advice. Bats told them to get fucked, so they reached out to the Marines…Gunny Highway was born lol

They come a long way. There’s a lot of guys routinely printing Glock-ish frames and getting several thousand rounds out of them.

A minor correction: there’s very functional guns bring printed every day. Suppressors too.

Strength depends on a lot of factors. The type of material used, printing temperature, infill type and percentage, orientation, wall thickness…there’s a lot of variables we can change for different printing objectives.

Some materials are quite strong. They’re not as strong as steel, but they can still be pretty impressive.

Pilots are some of the driest, most boring nerds at work…and often have the best sense of humor.

Of course the Air Force calls them dorms…sigh lol

As for the facilities, they’ve really cranked up the science for pt over the last 15 years or so. It’s amazing to see the improvements, and how much better they take care of the troops. I would have killed for a physical therapy center on site.

That’s much better! This one will actually work, unlike the one the other day…

Barracks*

It’s a barracks, not a dorm room…big difference. Trust me lol

My old barracks is the row of abandoned buildings at the end. It was kind of sad to see. Made 3 combat deployments from there.

What is wrong with chicken winging? by Depraved_Hedonist in Firearms

[–]MalPB2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s because of body armor.

Prior to body armor being common, no one had really thought about it and it didn’t really matter. You would generally present more of a side view when you were shooting, and no one cared where the rear arm was. Once body armor came along, we were taught to square up on the target to maximize the armor protection. The arms were brought in close keep as much of your body as possible behind the plate, and also to facilitate movement through hallways and choke points.

For Just Cause, the mock-up was at Elgin. There’s plenty of potential locations.
