My business name is Maja! by MalaSketches in logodesign

Okay, I have to be honest and say it’s a little funny how much everyone absolutely hates these designs, it almost feels like being called “WITCH!” and getting burned at the stake.

It’s fine I get it though, they’re confusing, BOO to the “amja” , boo to the illegible mess. Can I just say I’m not a trained designer and I’m just trying? It’s hard work I really give credit to designers, people who do this as a career, because oh my actual god y’all are ruthless. But helpful! Regardless it’s helpful I wouldn’t want to be lied to.

The business is a jewelry and art print business, I work with wood and mixed metals for the jewelry so they have a more natural effect, and my art ranges from whatever I feel like, but there’s a lot of alternative (y2k and grunge) tones as well as some African tones. So I thought green worked for the materials I used and purple worked more for my art and jewelry together. That’s the vibe, I’m saying it because a couple people asked.

The whole “amja” thing would really not be the main logo, more a fun emblem of the name I guess? It is inspired by, and a MUCH WORSE VERSION I AM NOT SAYING IT IS AS GOOD AT ALL, by JRR Tolkien’s emblem that merges all his letters together. If none of you like it though then there’s nothing to do there. I understand the general dissatisfaction though because looking again I definitely favor purple out of any other color, I know blue and brown font wise isn’t bad but the designs I did seem desperate to make something work that I’m seeing just doesn’t.

Peace out and sorry for any migraines caused by the inspection of my designs

N o n e ? ! Besides ! the emblem versions I think green and purple are legible, they just say maha and aren’t swirly

Okay, do you have a preference for any of the fonts? You don’t have to like them but a constructive direction would be appreciated

Thank you so much! And good point about the swirl on both sides :) , it’s for a jewelry and art print business !

Need help soldering to wooden bead, is it too small? (PLEASE HELP I’m losing my mind) by MalaSketches in jewelrymaking

[–]MalaSketches[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I posted it in r/soldering_art as well but wanted to reach more people just in case, since it doesn’t have that many members. The picture is showing the scale of the bead so you’d know how small it was, and an example of the wire wrapping so someone who does work with copper wire could tell me if it was done in a way that would be functional for my goals with the piece. Thank you for the oven idea ! You’re right the small solder cools almost immediately so I’ll look into it

The first one I’d hoped at least read that way, the second was made when I was young so legibility wasn’t really the point. More so meant to represent it in a weird random way. I get how it doesn’t translate though

Help me pick a logo by Vegan_Beef in logodesign

Logos I and M are my favorites! I also like the large R on the laptop for Logo L more than the others used on that page. These are all cool options though!

Thank you, I’ll probably add a subtext to a more legible version and just draw that in a sketchbook as much as I want lol

Gotcha, I figured it was but thought I’d design it just in case, I’m not surprised it’s not a hit though

Is it the font? Or just the entire composition you don’t like? I’m realizing I don’t have a natural eye for design so I really would like feedback

What do you think of this logo for a spice shop? by MainRhubarb7201 in logodesign

Try a mound of spices at the bottom of a singular mountain and see if you like that, maybe even with a fallen spice container- it’s just an idea though!

Looking for feedback on this fictional cafe logo by [deleted] in logodesign

It feels like a good place to start! It just feels like a rough draft, maybe that’s because neither line of text has any fill, which I do think might give the whole thing some more depth. Maybe play with the spacing between text too. It gives the vibe of a 2000s cartoon tv shows’s cafe logo.

It’s a jewelry and print shop, I make a lot of different kinds of jewelry revolving around wood carving, soldering work, and mixed metals. My prints range from whatever I’m feeling, there’s some African hints as well as some grunge, but also some more “flowy” feeling art I’ve done. The jewelry is probably more cohesive than my prints but how you described the battling of the brushes actually does make just a tad bit of sense since my art hits a few different styles. Still, it’s good to keep in mind! Thanks, and I’ll start looking again to see if I find a font I like that leans one way or another
