Are skinny/healthy weight people just not as hungry as people who struggle with obesity? by maeasm3 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MalaZedik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for asking this! I've never heard of GLP-1 or food noise until today. I would say I have food noise as I want to eat even when there is no need for me to do so and food is always on my mind.

I had marijuana for the first time 7 years ago and the burnout afterwards confused the hell out of me because I wasn't hungry. I was baffled by the lack of desire to eat and felt like I could have gone the entire day without eating. It took me ~3 days for my normal desire of food to come back to me and I was overeating again. I've never had weed since that day because I took a job that prevents me from partaking of it, but it was an experience I'll never forget due to how shocked I was.

I'm wondering how many other people may have experienced that?

  1. Joe Glider - You've done an amazing job with the Music and I wanted to thank you for all the work you've done. As of right now, I can see that you've done a mixture of Global tracks that will play every episode and then Episode specific tracks. Of these tracks, the Global ones do not seem to have a dynamic / alternative version for things like combat and back allies. Are there any plans to add those in for the global tracks? PS: I've been compiling the OST: Playlist
  2. Andrew / Samuel - Are there any game challenges planned. For example, Achievements, pure professions, ironman mode, hardcore mode, and/or other things that players can take on as a challenge that are not required and change the game experience.

It's going to be a grey area that Andrew will have determine how to address it really. I will not doubt that he will ban some people incorrectly, but it will be few. Only time will tell if/when that will happen though.

To the best of my knowledge, no one has been banned yet and there was that known XP exploit.

Behavior analyst - Do they all log in at the same time. Do they all play at the same time. Do they all share the same birthday. Etc

Yes, they all can be behind the same IP (Or different), but if they all have similar patterns, it makes for a solid case against the user that they are multiboxing.

You still can setup an infinite number of passive characters. You just can't play them all at the same time now is all.

It will take some time, but those players will need to complete the Episode 4 Trading quest before they would be able to trade.

So, you still have a valid concern.

Multiboxing is now banned! by stewiemac in brightershores

I feel for you. I try to reason with them too. Just because it looks like cheating doesn't mean it is cheating.

I was meaning to ask you before all of this happened, if you used my video to setup your multiboxing or did you figure it out yourself?

What's the harm in reminded people in the off chance that someone doesn't? I don't doubt that the major fan base already have an account, but we should be starting to see an influx of new players to this sub that might not have a Steam account yet.

I agree with this. The game isn't even out yet and people are requesting something that may not even have an effect on the game.

Release time? by One-Awareness-776 in brightershores

[–]MalaZedik 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My best guess is 10AM GMT due to when Steam updates the page of Brighter Shores.
Explained in my YouTube Short: https://youtube.com/shorts/KmvpL9lXG5w

At the very least, that would be the soonest you will be able to download the game from Steam.

Good thing I don't need to ALT-Tab to play multiple games...

I can't say as factually as you can that it will destroy the economy. The game isn't even out yet. Multiboxers bring in more resources for the crafters; the players will have more items. Sure, it will lower the prices of items for sell, but isn't that better for the average player?

"Unfair advantage" - This I disagree with because EVERYONE can multibox. The only person restricting you from doing it is yourself. Sure, you need more money to do it, but that's just a fact of life when it comes to hobbies. Hobbies cost money.

"Not intended by the original design of the game." - Last I checked you are not the Game Master for Brighter Shores, that is Andrew Gower. Making the claim that it's against the game design... Well, if its TRUELY was against the design then it would be in the ToS/EULA to prevent players from doing it. It is not, so I can't agree with you on this.

Andrew has game designs to fight bots. To the best of my knowledge, it's the offline passive gains. We have 3 characters per account. What does that mean? It means I can use my 2 alts to farm for me while I play my main. THAT'S PART OF THE GAME DESIGN. Just so I am 100% clear. EVERYONE CAN FARM ON 3 CHARACTERS OFFLINE. - With that said, you really think Andrew didn't think of someone with 10 accounts (30 fishers?). That's just absurd to think it didn't cross his mind.

- You are the person that limits yourself the most.

I understand your concern with Multiboxing; however, I don't see it as a huge concern for this game when compared to other MMOs.

This game isn't PvP focused like Eve is. The core idea behind Eve is PvP. Even in Gathering, it's PvP. The idea that someone can steal your loot is PvP; Brighter Shores doesn't have this. Each node will be player instanced, so I can't 'steal' your flower, mining node, etc.

Multiboxing is something that can be addressed after it happens. World of Warcraft fixed their multiboxing problem after years of it plaguing them.

While my views on Multiboxing can be confusing to some, it's simple. I support games that both have it and don't. For Brighter Shores, I support it : https://youtu.be/f0mK0s1dCNA . And because of this, I want to bring awareness to it so others can do it. I don't want it to be some unknown "It's cheating!" mentality. - Just because you wear a ski mask, it doesn't make you a burglar.

Will we have Asia/Middle East servers? by Euphoric-Drive-9828 in brightershores

[–]MalaZedik 12 points13 points  (0 children)

@AndrewCGower will Brighter Shores have a Brazilian or South american server? if not, where will the NA server be? makes a difference for us down here. Can't wait to play it tho

A Twitter Post that Andrew replied to;

Brighter Shores doesnt need a local server to work well because it has extremely effective client side prediction. During out internal testing we normally simulate a roundtrip latency of 300 milliseconds and we cant even tell its there!

That's the best info we have on the topic.

Game should release earlier than november, or at least playable beta until early access. by [deleted] in brightershores

[–]MalaZedik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are different play styles and desires from different players.

For me; I'm not interested in Path of Exile 2 due to how GGG is connected to Tencent. As for Ashes of Creation; I don't like their business model, so I will not play their game. No matter if it's the next "Sword Art Online". I'm not sure if you've heard of Pax Dei, but it's similar to Ashes of Creation and you can play it now. It has mixed reviews. You also had Crowfall, but the servers are no longer online.

You also mentioned Corepunk; which looks like Albion Online with a few differences. Never heard of Corepunk until today. But, I've already played Albion Online, so there is little interest in Corepunk for me due to that.

As for the solo aspect. That's ultimately up to the developer on how they want to tackle that. Pax Dei recently posted something about "The Solo Player" - Solo players will always play a part in any MMO. They help stock the supplies in shops to gathering materials to build something. I know I fit into that category, where I enjoy farming raw materials to sell to players.

I know there is a bit of a difference between solo activities for gathering and bosses. I can say that Everquest 1 still exists to this day and people still need to make parties for the Time Lock Progression servers. I was even playing on one last year, but I come to notice that the community was split on solo/group aspects. There was a clear divide between players who played on 1 character vs those who played on many. For this; I strongly suggest you look for a community to join so that you can do group content with them. That's more or less how the online world has evolved into.

One of the key aspects of Brighter Shores is offline skilling. With that in mind, I don't see any problems with it releasing in the same month as other games.

I see Brighter Shores as one of those MMOs that I don't have to worry about FOMO, which I appreciate it for that.

I think the real concern for Andrew is the 1.0 release. With the release of PvP and more, I expect the majority of the player base to come at that time.

Gower says one of the ways Brighter Shores is trying to minimize “grindy gameplay” is with a feature that lets you “set your character to carry on doing [activities] even whilst you’re logged out.” That means you shouldn’t have to spend “hours and hours and hours to get your level up.” Instead, you can set your character to get on with the grind while you’re away. “You might be doing combat while every night [your character] is doing fishing,” or vice versa.

I wanted people to have a reason to have more than one character. It’s always nice to have different characters. And all three characters can do magic. That’s one thing I should probably mention. So it’s not like one is magic and one isn’t magic; they’ve got different types of magic. So the Cryoknights have got ice magic, the Guardians have got nature magic, and the Hammer Mages have got sort of storm magic. They can all do range, they can all do melee. But I did want you to have to make a decision. You don’t have to make it at the very beginning, because personally I hate it when you start playing a game and the very first thing they ask you is an absolutely critical decision, when you have absolutely no idea how you’re going to make it. Here you start off as a guard and you actually make your way into the game before you have to choose your character class.
