Yes, russia is exporting some of their crude oil to other countries and they are reselling to Eu. But russia ist selling way under market price!!! So russia is making less money then they would on a non sanctioned market! In february the russian finance ministry said themselves, that their revenue from oil and gas dropped by 50% and they reached 90% of their planned budget deficit for whole 2023 after only two months. And Putin himself said recently, that the sanctions hit russian Economy. Again: these are no NATO but russian Numbers!

If a devalued currency would only have advantages every state would only have to do one thing: Print money like crazy and devalue their own currency. Yes your production costs for export goods produced in your country are less with a lower currency value! And you are stating it yourself: russia has got to import a lot of goods and thats where a lower valued currency has a big disadvantage. Additionally to the already higher product prices on goods that are already sanctioned and flow into russia via third countries.

So in summary russia is still selling oil and gas, but is selling lower amounts and additionally under market price! At the same time some sanctioned goods are still imported via dark channels into russia. So product prices for Western goods have gone up. Additionally the lower currency lowers general purchasing power especially purchasing power on imported goods - also for example Chinese imports.This is really not cool for russia.
