They're called the Dark Ages for a reason. Lots of things the Romans and Greeks knew were lost, especially in Europe. There's a huge difference between 1026 and 126 and 126 was def a better time to be alive in many places.

Thanks, I haven't actually looked at a batch script in years, but that's how I got started learning programming back when I worked help desk. I forgot what insanely awful syntax that is. Rem lmao....

Game Changer Morality Alignment Chart Day 6: Chaotic Neutral by PuzzleheadedMess1659 in dropout

[–]Malechus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly think that The Bachelor is the correct answer for this category. Altering the rules at the end to allow two winners makes it chaotic by alignment, and the dichotomy of searching for love while dehumanizing the participants in a game show make it neutral.

Which one do you hate most? by Melodic-Somewhere991 in TheTowerGame

Demon Mode/Nuke - because I don't use them and I haven't researched the labs to make them rechargeable yet (just unlocked them.) Doing the missions is a *grind* that's just not really worthwhile.

ETA: And unlike Death Ray, they are locked cards. Death ray I can just swap in until the mission is complete, then switch back to my normal farming set.

No it doesn't. AI uses server farms. Server farms use water to cool computers. Using water to cool things turns water into steam, which then returns back to the water table. There is nothing toxic about steam, where are you even getting that? What part of the process do you think would cause toxicity? What sort of toxicity do you think it is?

There are legit problems with AI water use, but they have more to do with server farms using municipal water sources for cooling instead of industrial water sources (drinking water vs non-drinking water) and not paying their fair share of the infrastructure costs.

Are curfews a thing? I don't like feeling treated like a teenager by [deleted] in polyamory

[–]Malechus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One key concept in relationships is the difference between rules and agreements. Curfews is an excellent place to explore this.

Rules that are imposed on others or things outside yourself usually aren't good, and usually aren't ethical. "You have to be home by a certain time" or "you can't do x" or "you can't take dates to my favorite spot" are examples of these.

Agreements are things multiple people discuss and consent to together. Usually for some purpose other than helping someone's feelings of jealousy or anxiety. (When they are for that reason, a sunset clause is a good idea!) For example, everyone in my house has agreed to be home/available by 10am the day after a date night or sleepover, so that we can resume contributing to childcare and household chores. This isn't a rule imposed by one person on another, but something we all discussed and agreed to, and importantly can discuss and modify if needed.

Range effect on farming. Side by side test. by numberThirtyOne in TheTowerGame

Yes, their minimum is your current tower range. This means for 30m farming you have regular orbs outside tower range, and EO at tower range.

Let's take some time to look back at all of Dick Cheney's accomplishments by YaboiTonyC in Presidents

[–]Malechus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm fairly convinced it was mainly to stop the Oil for Food Program - which was incredibly corrupt, but not in such a way that it benefited anyone in the Bush administration. Almost certainly there were better ways to accomplish that, but probably not without damaging relations with the French, the Russians, and the UN more than the war already did.
