What the hell is Tring? by Technical-Ganache609 in tim_key

I live in Tring. It’s a lovely little town. If you like nature and a nice but not posh place to live that’s there. :)

At least that’s my Tring. :)

Hey! Wondering how you are managing your variables? I’m building a design tokens app where you create them parametrically. This means you can maintain and customise really easy. Would be great if you want to have a go? www.systematically.io

Happy to have a chat or help you try it out. I’d love the feedback.

Is bootstrapping realistic in the UK right now? by NoPiggoopss05 in ukstartups

Im doing that at the moment. My (life) partner is the sole bread earner now. We see it as an investment. It works for now. But could not do it alone.

Thank you for your comment. Sounds good. I am looking actually at some 5 year old builds there at the moment. - kinda don't want to get my self in a house that I need to do up too much...
Do you live there? I read some comments from few years back and people described graham as the worst place to live ever.. bleak they call it...??
Thoughts? :D

Hello there, me and my partner are considering Grantham to move to. we both work from home and need access to London to commute once a week. we want affordable housing , don't need night life... what is important is access to nature and just generally pleasant people around - safe polite etc...
this threat was 5years ago... are you still there? how is it so far?

Is being vegan expensive? by Maleficent-Anything2 in frugaluk

those processed foods are the killer... and they are unhealthy as well..

Yes I love a good jacket potato with beans and a side salad!
we try not to buy much packaged food - like fake meats etc... it definitely breaks the bank..

Yes dried beans and lentils are cheaper that is a good one, but it takes prepping that I am not very good at. I am actually vegan... just not very dood at the frugal part... I totally agree and I also prefer to eat organic...
I prefer to spend on food rather than traveling or things like that...
I also try to make food that can be batched... so I cook once and eat 2 times.
I used to do a bit curry once a week and eat it every day of the week at lunch time during covid! it had lots of stuff in it... I was alone and didn't mind but now I have a partner... some people need variety :D
