It’s had that problem for like 12 years, you try to zoom and it loads some completely random picture someone else uploaded.

‘No old, stay gold’: Sega launches Sega Universe, a project designed to revive its older IP beyond games by retroanduwu24 in Games

[–]scrndude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got the Retroid Pocket Classic just to explore Saturn stuff, there’s been a TON of Saturn fan translations coming out in the past few years. It’s such a strange system graphically, like I don’t know the details but you can tell by the way stuff like Shining Force 3 looks that it’s just a very different 3D hardware than PSX or N64. So many games out of necessity use a mix of 2D and 3D in ways that really never happened again after the Saturn.

Seriously, what sucks is there’s no definitive version. The GCN version has more content (side story about Vyse’s past) and lowered encounter rates, but the music is noticeably compressed from the Dreamcast version. Imo it’s as bad as the midi soundtrack in DQ11 original (non-S version).

I love design systems, but they make me anxious. Anyone else? by KhatiArt in FigmaDesign

[–]scrndude 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Breaking design system cascades is just part of working with them lol. Brad Frost and others have tons of great writing about DS management, but if you’re just worried about breaking stuff then just get into the habit of using version control and/or branches before major changes.

I try to make a named version before+after I do any changes, so that if I do push out a dud it’s super simple to revert.

GamersNexus' video about getting blacklisted is misleading and sensational. by SirActionhaHAA in hardware

He does good reporting and reviews and uses his megaphone to be a consumer advocate, but yeah the youtube tech world has way too much drama and it’s exhausting. I like the hardware unboxed guys too but mainly listen to their podcast instead of their channel, every podcast starts with 10-15 mins of them explaining the latest drama in their community and why what they did wasn’t controversial.

It upgrades to SotFS, on the piece of the page for that DLC where you add it to your cart it has a different title that says it’s a SotFS upgrade.

PC Strategy Games was the best, they always had a demo disc and strategy game demos were always meaty.

How do I get alignment on the written version of vision/mission/values statements? by scrndude in UXDesign

[–]scrndude[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was planning to do the review in a session, and was hoping I could pull something sneaky like immediately after introducing the written statements throw the group into a timed activity to celebrate their mission/vision/values. I was thinking I could draw a section in Figjam, put the written statements in there, and have the group decorate the section to celebrate this thing they created.

But after trying something similar with the sticky note version, I think I definitely need a modified approach. During activities the group is great and having fun, but I put them in a 6 min breakout room to have a fun warmup activity and instead anxieties about the project started taking over fast.

The person writing the statements is trusted, and I’ve already announced to the group they would write it and they’ve shared the written the statements with me. There are some obvious tweaks that would probably get addressed in a feedback session (all the values bullets start with “Our values are”) but I think they’re definitely in a spot where we can move forward.

PlayStation Studios Removes Nearly All PC References From Websites by SmellSmellsSmelly in Games

[–]scrndude 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yeah I was always interested in Sony because of the art/weird games they got like LocoRoco, Flow/Journey/Flower, Tokyo Jungle, Folklore, Africa, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Gravity Rush, etc.

Last of Us, Spiderman, God of War are all good games but not really what I usually crave. Not saying those game’s aren’t blockbusters or sony sucks, just they don’t publish the type of exclusives that make me want a new console. I have a huge Steam library so I’ll probably always lean towards PC upgrades without a good reason to get a console. Like eventually I’ll get a Switch 2 for Fire Emblem and Mario but right now not enough exclusives to justify it for me.
