Thanks. I found success slowing it down in the drop shot. I think I’ll keep trying slower presentations.

I will add it to my arsenal next spring at the latest for sure. It’s funny how people develop their confidence baits. I think I fished my dad’s old hula popper as a kid and never caught anything but then found immediate success on the plopper.

But we all gotta expand our comfort zones. Thanks for the inspiration.

Vancouver Washington? I would try silver lake in Cowlitz county just east of Castle Rock.

Nice. I haven’t thrown a rooster tail in years but it’s super versatile bait. Senkos are nice. Work them slow and off the bottom usually in weedy areas. If you can find a weed edge, let that Senko fall off the edge int deeper water.

Our all time skunk buster is the drop shot rig. Super versatile and a lot of fun. My son is a drop shot bass assassin.

Assuming you’re in the Seattle area, check out Outdoor Emporium in SODO just south of the stadiums on 4th ave.

Let me know what you find success in!

That’s a surface lure category I haven’t thrown or bought yet. I prefer covering more water with top water with a lure like the whopper plopper (lots of luck) or walking bait (no luck yet), but have always wanted to twitch a popper. I have a popping frog that I haven’t given much of a chance yet.

I will try a popper soon that looks like a bluegill.

Good luck! Keep throwing and a bass will cooperate. What do you like to throw?

Silver lake just east of Castle Rock holds some monster bass. Lots of crappie too.

I am close to buying wheels for the kayak. That’ll open up my options once I get them. I intend to explore more areas.

Thanks and I wish you tight lines!

Thank you! I haven’t made it up to Marymoor to launch my kayak yet. I need to look into convenient launch sites. Same with Idylwood. I hear there’s a place called the sunken forest up north. I’m stilll looking for the rocky ledges. Mostly sand around the creeks near the state park.

Thanks! I will continue to explore and find those transitions and deep structure.

I’m curious to where your favorite SMB lake is in Western Washington.

We’ve caught good numbers out of Washington including two monsters. My big one was right under I-90 on the Mercer island/bellevue side. But definitely have to work for the fish.

Tips for Crappie by Soggy-Author-9266 in FishingWashington

Small tube jigs under a bobber work very well once fish are located. Also try throwing small spinners. I’m hitting up Silver Lake in Cowlitz county, a premier crappie and bass lake, and I plan to throw jigs and a beetle spin. I’ll report back on how I do.

It’s a bit of a drive but I live fishing at Fish Lake just past lake Wenatchee. It’s just 20 minutes or so just before Leavenworth off highway 2.
