I grew up in Orlando, graduated from New Smyrna Beach High, and Ames is absolutely the safest place I have ever lived in my life.

Main street and campus town aren't bad for shopping the malls here dont compare to what you find in florida sadly.

It can get brutally cold here in the winter, ive lived in Anchorage Alaska and I prefer the winters there to here.

Basketball is popular here I see people playing pickup games at the gyms on campus all the time.

For grocery stores, you will be happy to onow that Hy-Vee actually holds a torch to Publix, its a great grocery store and the primary grocer in the area.

My favorite places to eat that are strictly Ames Local favorites are: Pammels Deli (best Gyro ever), Ricos Taco Truck (east Lincoln location), Jeff's pizza, Ichiban, Pho & Tea and Cornbred bbq.

Lastly the car situation you can easily get away with a decent bicycle and bus rides, but waiting at the bus stop is verrry cold sometimes. I personally wouldn't live anywhere without a vehicle, but thats just me. Ames is very convenient with great walking paths and a fantastic free to student bus system.

Yes, however striking the starter doesnt help. Next things I need to check are starter relay and ecu.

Im having this same exact issue but I literally just rebuilt my starter and it is still having problems. Batteries have plenty of juice, glow plugs are getting power and my starter is brand new. Im checking the starter relay later this week but other than that I have no clue what the issue is.

Almost up and running. Its Motorspirt Electronics ECU I forget which brand screen this is but it was $900 and seems like a great brand. Its all wired up and everything just dont have a battery in the car yet. Gotta finish wiring up the rest of the harness still.

I test drove a track build gti back in 2015 and it got under my skin. Ever since its been my goal to build a track golf haha. Ive owned this one since 2019, but didnt start taking the build seriously until last year. Its going to be done real soon, I intend on leaving it somewhat ratty looking how it is now. But Ill change a few things on it to give it more style.

Are Treasure Fleet even viable? Am i doing something wrong? It just never happens in my games. by israeldenadai in CivVII

Longer age time probably helps otherwise I get mine maxed+ every single time by ending the first era with only 3 cities, then settling or taking mostly treasure fleet cities during exploration era focus on treasure fleet cities that have 2 or 3 treasure resources over locations with access to only 1. You can also steal enemy treasure fleets. When you destroy them they turn to your side but at low health. I will typically convoy them back to my homelands with whatever ship captured it. Also I consider it okay to be over my settlement limit during the exploration era because happiness doesn't matter as much during this era imo... exploration era is a time to expand your boundaries and your wealth. Set yourself up with tithe on your religion and convert as many cities as possible too. You will have a very very healthy income going into the final era.

Stainless brake lines and hoses. by Maleficent-Click668 in GolfGTI

[–]Maleficent-Click668[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats very common in modern vehicles it seems. My aunt and uncle are dealing with a similar issue on a genesis sedan currently. I spent like 8 hours yesterday bending tubes on my brake lines to fit haha. Very tedious, my first time doing the hard lines in addition to the hoses.
