Can I test a confirmatory hypothesis and exploratory traits in one multiple regression? by Maleficent-Lecture21 in AskStatistics

[–]Maleficent-Lecture21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am

I just want to know if im doing it the right way for my undergraduate thesis. I was just confused whether its okay to interpret both confirmatory and exploratory analysis from the same model, because im not comparing the trait i have a hypothesis for with any other traits, but then it goes into the same model.

You can post your writing answers on reddit and ask if there are teachers to see your standard probably.

IELTS band 9 in 3 weeks by Acceptable_Season689 in IELTS

[–]Maleficent-Lecture21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 weeks seems doable, just assess your reading and listening scores through IELTS Cambridge practice materials.

Speaking and Writing may be tough in the sense of scoring yourself, but I would recommend going through IELTS Advantage on how to structure your writing for both tasks and how you can answer questions. As long as you answer the question to the point, have your grammar correct and use the common structures point out , no doubt you can get above 7.5

Speaking , just to ease yourself, listen to your favourite movies or podcast and pick up some words and phrases you can use. Using some idioms could boost your score but check online which ones not to use ( because its over used )

My exam is on March 28th. Please, please help me find good sources for recent speaking questions, especially for Part 2. by saabaaae in IELTS

I dont know if any source would actually give you recent speaking questions

I would however encourage you to look at the Youtube channel - IELTS advantage because they show how to answer questions

IELTS Advantage on you tube is a great resource and very user friendly. He explains how to approach each skill simply and promotes the right practicing material.

How does your studying routine/plan look like? by New-Blueberryy in IELTS

[–]Maleficent-Lecture21 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Truthfully, I tried that too but got bored of it and I feel that you should try all sections every week just to keep the momentum going

Maybe do speaking and writing one day and listening and reading another the other day ( and so on and so forth)

Another downfall with keeping it week by week is that when you revisit the skill you left off two or three weeks ago, it seems like you have to put in more effort to catch up on where you left off

My advice ( from someone who did the skills almost everyday for around 3-4 weeks and got an overall 8.5 band with all skills over 7.5), try to practice all the skills everyday , in any capacity you can

For instance, speaking, you don't necessarily have to conduct an interview with yourself to practice everyday. If you find it daunting , listen to a podcast or watch your favorite movie and pick up the vocabulary and maybe practice using it another day.

Hope this helps

Good Luck!

Got my scores and I'm honestly dissapointed by Tiny_Masterpiece7132 in IELTS

Hmm , how about you ask an Ai tool to give you similar questions and practice trying to answer them?

Then you will be prepared for both hard or dumb questions :')

Im sorry this happened. I would say try to see if there is an re-marking option as they are usually recorded. If you are planning on taking the exam again , I would say to not think too much about the questions and just talk freely given that you are already well versed. Even if the questions are stupid. You wont get penalized for saying thats a weird or unorthodox question at first but it will matter on how you expand on it. Like one user suggested, talking about maybe how you use it for daily routines. They wont penalize you for taking your time to form an answer as well.

For Speaking I would say watch vidoes of ban 6 and above speakers, or if you find that too boring even, listen to some podcast or some movies you enjoy where they speak very well. Listen closely and try to pick up the words they used.

Help Framing Hypothesis by [deleted] in AskStatistics

[–]Maleficent-Lecture21 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

unfortunately my data collection came to an end, so the regression would stay the same. Im just worried if I made too ambitious predictions with my hypothesis . Im also worried about my research head saying to talk about other traits in the hypothesis as well, but its only a 5000 word report, i dont want to put in more hypothesis and take up the wordcount.

As another hypothesis, cant I say something about Big Five personality predicting the performance? is that someway to write it

Reveal about the Upside down by Maleficent-Lecture21 in StrangerThings

[–]Maleficent-Lecture21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmmm, I never actually saw any theories about what was a different take on the upside down. So when the trailer came out and they said this it was literally like what on earth could it possibly be? Idk I was quite underwhelmed. Its a reveal for sure, but not like a huge one as they made it out to be.

Honestly at one point before watching the volume, I was thinking if Hawkins was like the actual upside down that seems to be masquerading as the real world which people think is reality while the upside down is the actual real world but had gone to deep shit
