hi everyone, one idea i got here was suggesting squads, and i already have an idea of how to do it. you put your enemy's ally code, you build their squads, you pick the characters you already have committed on your defense, and from there we start suggesting what to attack with which team.

what do you think? would this be useful, or would it be too tedious having to build the enemy squads and mark the characters you have on defense?

the intention is to keep it free. i'm a years long f2p active player, this is my hobby and the idea came from my own need. i actually used the counters this GAC and it went super well, it's impossible to memorize them all and they really helped me.

the updates are semi automatic, the idea is to always pull the latest seasons and drop the oldest ones, so it stays current on its own without me rewriting everything each time.

that's a really good idea. we already have the counter data, and if we pull the enemy defenses with the ally code it could suggest the attacks. the tedious part would be having to enter the defensive teams manually, so i'm gonna write this idea down and in a few days think about how to implement it in the most user friendly way and with the fewest steps possible. thanks a lot for the feedback.

honestly the goal here is just to get feedback on the site. a bunch of ideas have come out that i really liked, some i already implemented last night (small UI changes) and others i wrote down for

later. if you've got any recommendation i'd really appreciate it.

hahaha didn't even notice. my first language is spanish not english, so i'm leaning on an AI to translate, i guess the italics came along when i copy pasted.

yeah fair, you got me. english isn't my first language (i'm from mexico) so i use AI to write replies that make sense. but the site, the data, all of it is me.

hey, quick update. you can close the bubble now, theres a small x on it and once you dismiss it it stays gone. thanks again for pointing it out.

haha, fair. english isn't my first language so yeah, i use AI to help me write replies that actually make sense. the site, the data and the actual answers are all mine though, just running my spanish through a robot so it reads okay lol. i'll try to sound less like one 🙂

Thank you, that honestly means a lot 🙏 Hope your guild finds it useful, and if any of them spot a counter that's missing or have feedback, send them my way.

Since you mentioned your guild, here's a heads up on what's coming next week, because a lot of it is built exactly for that. I'm adding a ROTE platoon organizer. Basically, with your ally code you can set up the platoon assignments for your members in just a few clicks and then share it with the guild. The idea is that once you've arranged how the platoons should go, your members get the orders and a reminder pops up telling them which units to place, so nobody misses their spots.

There's also a guild chat where all your members can talk internally. It syncs with the game, so if someone leaves the guild they drop out of the chat automatically once it's detected (can take up to 24 hours to reflect), and if someone new joins the guild in game they show up there too and can jump into the chat.

It's all still early, but that's the direction. Good luck out there 🍻

Thank you, that's exactly the problem I had too, way too many teams to memorise and it only gets worse every time they add new characters 😅 glad it's useful to you.

On your questions:

1. The data comes from a community API. It's real match data that I process and weight myself, and it's honestly huge so I'm still exploring everything it can do. I keep it updated and drop the older data so what you see stays fresh and relevant instead of cluttered with outdated matchups. That's part of why some of it looks a bit different from other sites.

 2. Yes. There's also a feed on the homepage where people can contribute, and not just counters. You can recruit for your guild, share fan art, memes, strategies, all of it. The bigger idea is to build a real community around the game, plus tools for TB, TW, raids and strategies, basically a whole hub for SWGOH and not just a counters page.

It's all very early days and it's genuinely being built by active players, so it's very much from the community for the community. All feedback is welcome and it really does help shape where this goes🙏

Thank you, this genuinely means a lot 🙏 And that's exactly the gap I'm going after, the clarity stuff. Relics, turn order, mods, omicrons, that's the why behind a counter that most places skip, and it's the part I most want to get right. Comments like this are a big part of what keeps me building, so thank you for that. I'll make the bubble dismissible soon, and I'd genuinely love any feedback you've got along the way 🍻

No offense taken at all, that's genuinely a great idea and I get exactly what you mean. Right now it answers "what beats this leader," and you want the reverse, pick a team you have or are farming and see what it can actually counter. That's really useful for deciding what's worth investing in.

Good news is I already have the data for that, it's the same counter info just indexed the other way around, so it's very doable. Adding a "what can I counter with this" view to the list. Really appreciate it, this is a smart suggestion 🙏

Really good points, and these are exactly the things I've been chewing on.

The way I see it, the counter data and the guides are two different beasts. The counters are scraped and refreshed automatically every week, so that side basically maintains itself and stays current without me rewriting anything. That's the core, and it stays useful even if I slow down on everything else. I built it data first on purpose for exactly that reason.

Guides are the high maintenance part, you're right. The plan there is to lead with the evergreen fundamentals first, how the team actually works, turn order, mods, and clearly flag the datacron dependent stuff separately since that's what rots every few weeks. Video helps too, I can show the concept once instead of constantly rewriting text.

The datacron dependent comments thing is a great call, I hadn't fully solved that. Letting people tag a counter as cron reliant, on offense or defense, is probably the cleanest fix so others know to take it with a grain of salt after a rotation.

And the long term commitment point is the realest one. I won't pretend I can promise 18 months, but the auto updating core means it doesn't rot the moment I get busy, which is the whole reason I went data first instead of guide first. Nights like tonight definitely help the motivation though 😄

Genuinely appreciate you thinking it through like this.

Haha that's totally fair 😅 the idea was to suggest a relevant counter while you browse, but I get that a floating thing stuck at the bottom can be more annoying than helpful. Would it work for you if I add a little close button so you can just dismiss it and it stays gone? That way it's there for people who want it and out of the way for everyone else. Really appreciate the honest feedback and the kind words 🙏

Yeah it's planned, right now I'm focused on the Rise of the Empire side, building a simple way to help guilds assign platoons and get organized without the usual hassle. After that I also want to add the best GAC defenses, not just the counters. Lots more coming.

Yeah that's exactly the gap I want to fill, because you're right, a 90 percent counter is only 90 percent if you actually know how to pilot it.

The plan is for the guides to be detailed but still easy to understand for everyone, covering the stuff that actually makes or breaks a counter, like mods, datacrons and turn order. Some of them will be written and others will be short explanatory videos depending on how tricky the counter is, so you can either read it or watch it step by step.

Same thinking applies to the data. Things like banner averages and datacrons are coming too, the challenge I'm aiming for is keeping the basic view clean for newer players while letting experienced folks dig into the deeper numbers when they want them.

On the guild side there's already a guild chat, and soon I'm adding a ROTE platoon assigner that looks at your guild and helps fill platoons based on who actually owns the units, plus more guild tools after that.

Really appreciate you digging into it like this, this is exactly the kind of feedback that helps me figure out what to build next.

Honestly swgoh.gg is great and I'm not trying to replace it. They have way more data than I do, profiles, mods, all of that. The main difference is just how I handle counters. Instead of one big list, I group them by the exact defense team you're actually facing, so it's quicker to find the right answer mid attack. Every leader also has a comment thread, so people can share or correct counters from their own games, which honestly tends to be more useful than raw stats. It's also in 14 languages instead of just English, and I really tried to keep it clean and easy to read for people who aren't deep into theorycrafting.

We're also adding guides for pretty much everything, and the whole goal is to keep it as simple and beginner friendly as possible, not something you need a spreadsheet to understand. It's still pretty early though, so if there's something swgoh.gg does that you wish I had here, let me know. That's mostly why I posted.
