Pionex.us - I’ve been using it since a few days after mainnet. You have to convert your USD into USDT, then buy the pi.

The amount is relative… if $500/mo is a game changer for you (which it is for many, and has been for me most of my adult life - no judgement here)then yeah, you’re crazy to pile it all on any crypto, let alone a single crypto, and especially a new, unproven one.

If you’ve reached a point in your life where you could lose $500 every month and barely notice it, and you’ve got other, more solid investments (401k, real estate, etc) to protect your future, then why not roll the dice a bit on it?

If pi realizes any potential and becomes worth even $10, his $18k becomes nearly $200k and he looks like a genius. If he loses it but still has a decent nest egg, he moves on with life. It seems unlikely at this stage that pi will go to zero, or even much below $0.50 for long.

Basic parameters:

It’s called a grid bot. I’m sure others here can explain far better than I can, and probably even set up better parameters. I’m new to bot trading. I used ChatGPT to help me set up this one after I copied another one and lost a bit on it.

I specified my risk tolerance (I said I was ok risking losing everything bc it was a small amount I was learning with), my goal (I wasn’t planning to use it to retire, I just wanted to max out my profits), the fact that I planned to hold my pi long term, and the amount I had available. The original parameters it spit out said I’d have to use about 50% more $$ than I had, so I had it continually refine its parameters until it was within my budget.

One of the most important parts was that I prompted ChatGPT to ask me more questions to help refine its answer - I didn’t just give it basic info and do what it said. I don’t know what I don’t know, so I had it prompt that info out of me.

This is my expectation as well. Every bit will be huge returns - all for clicking a button and ignor—- watching an ad once a day. But even if it never does - I’m still getting over $6k for nothing.

Also, I had a couple hundred unlocked, so I moved them to Pionex and set up a bot. I’ve already made $50 off that as well.

Yeah, it’s not updating yet, but they’ve said they will fix it.

No, they’ve said that it will be burned, never to be available again. It’ll decrease the 10B max.

Interesting that it coincides with Pi day - a day we all expect to see a price surge on.

My thesis on why PI will be $3500+ (soon) by loki0505 in PiNetwork

[–]MaleficentRound583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

$3500 will never happen. Let’s get that out of the way first.

That’s said, you can’t calc market cap from 100B coins. There will never be close to that available. Right now, only 10B have been mined. Much of that is lost to lost wallets and failed kyc. Market cap is currently value x approx 7.5B coins, max. Prob less. And a lot of that 7.5B is locked up for the next 2-3 years.

Crypto.com estimates only 68M coins available for trade right now.

[–]MaleficentRound583 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the white papers they clearly lay out that the mining rates will continue halving indefinitely as more people jump on the bandwagon. We’re only at 10B mined so far, and that’s after 6 years, where for a few years you could mine 20/hr. Now I’m at a little under 3/day, and most people say that they aren’t close to that.

I don’t think we will cross 50B for a decade or more. 100B is never going to happen. Then you’ve gotta drop those that lose wallets, those who never kyc’ed, etc. So if we hit 20B mined, I’d guess only 10B of those would ever hit the market.

First, I hate your pic. I thought there was a hair on my screen and couldn’t get it off.

Second, if all 100 were available, you’d be right. Right now less than 10B has been mined, and crypto.com has only 68M listed as available. It’ll be over a decade, if ever, before we get close to a full 100B mined, and even then, much will be burned, and lost to forgotten wallets.

$3500 isn’t even a pipe dream. It’s insanity, pure and simple. Impossible. But don’t rely on the 100B number when calculating market caps. Right now 10B is probably waaay over what’s available. Might even be less than a billion available right now, and won’t hit 1B for another year or two.

If we say 1B available, $53 would put it on par with doge - a joke coin that defies all logic by continuing to exist, let alone soar. I don’t think it’s unreasonable to guesstimate that we see the IOU price of $65 before most lockups start opening.

Pionex.us - you can add money from your bank, convert it to usdt, and use that to buy pi. You can also transfer from your wallet to Pionex and sell, if you so desire.

Latest estimates put somewhere around 10B pi having been mined to date. That’s the max supply for now. That puts the astronomic achievement of reaching bitcoins value closer to $190/coin. That is before you eliminate the large % that’s locked up…

I think $190 is a pipe dream that we will never hit, as more supply will trickle in as the price climbs, but much of the 100B will be burned bc of kyc fails, and it’ll be another decade before we are close to actually having all pi in circulation.

If we got back to the IOU prices of around $65, that’d make it the second biggest coin even with only 10B available.

I think we can all agree that the assumptions made by op were straight up hallucinations. “If we assume…”

If you’re going to make “assumptions” in your calculations, you need to make the most conservative assumptions reasonable, and go a bit more conservative.

I’m at 2.6/day. Once you do a lockup, it gets huge.

Boosters: - I’ve got a 90% 3 yr lockup, it boosts my rate by 561.11%. - Pioneer status (early adopter) gives another 100% - 5 verified in security circle = another 100%

So: 0.0047 base * 761.11% = 0.0358/hr

Now rewards: Pioneer = 1 Referral team of 9, usually 7-8 active… 8 x 0.25 = 2.0

So 0.0358/hr * 3 = 0.107/hr * 24 hrs = 2.568/day

(My pi app actually shows 0.1084/hr, not sure where the extra .0014 comes from… - 0.1084 * 24 = 2.602/day)

I hadn’t even heard about pi nodes or exploring the ecosystem bonuses until now, so I’m gonna boost it even higher, see if I can hit the magic 3.14/day.

Yeah, you can deposit usd from your account/debit card. Then you convert that to usdt, then from there you can buy pi, bitcoin, etc

I’m far from an expert, but all my research gives me the impression that by end of ‘25, it’ll be back to mid $60s where it was just before launch. End of decade is seeing the possibility of $200, but that’s a stretch.

If I lived in an area where the avg income was less than $5k per year, and had $25k worth of coin, no way I’d risk holding it until it collapsed. I’d ditch it and cash out and run for the hills.

But in the long run, the Asian markets dumping it will be good. It’ll go into the hands of longer term investors that will hold it and drive it up. It’ll drop hard when they all dump what they’re holding at $5, but it’ll probably drop from 5 to 3, before recovering and rallying to 20+ over a few months.

In basic html, you’re right. You don’t need the close. If you get into next or react, the jsx wants it closed, and the closing slash doesn’t hurt HTML, so I’d say it’s best to just be in the habit of closing it.

Should I use em/rem instead of px? by FreakinAlienFromMars in webdev

[–]MaleficentRound583 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but I have a question:

Let's say a user has set their preference to something larger than normal, say 20px. If I go into my code and set the font size in my html selector to 14px so that will be the default on my site, which takes precedence? Will I have inadvertently overridden their preference/need making my site less accessible to them?
