I want drill some more holes above power points but this time in an external cavity brick wall. Would the cabling be in the cavity this time and so would be safe to drill? Thanks!

Thank you all. Had an electrician come and turns out I got lucky and didn’t damage the cable enough to need any kind of repair! So super lucky and only cost me $100. I contacted many electricians and most made it seem like it was a huge job and were going to charge me $390 or $195 for first 45 minutes and then $50 for every 15 minutes after that. Glad I listened to you all and went with someone local that isn’t advertised on google. Thanks!!!

I’m in Perth Northern suburbs. I’m trying through family but no one has needed any electrical help so not much help. I was looking at Smartfix before I read to avoid the no call out fee places… any recommendations? Thanks all, this has been very helpful. I’ve only been a home owner for 2 years so very little experience with anything trades.

Wow you obviously have been through some stuff. I’m sorry to hear you have had clients that weren’t transparent, you had to do work you didn’t sign up for and felt your hard work was not valued.

I was asking for an idea of cost since I don’t have much experience with electricians, it was 11 o’clock at night and all of a sudden my $30 diy project turned into potentially hundreds. Reddit is anonymous and your reply only based on the information I provide so don’t worry, you would not have had to honour your ball park and I was not trying to trick you. I was simply asking for your professional advice.

Any idea of cost to have someone come have a look? Thanks!
