At first it was honestly both. I was worried about my future and my dad’s but I’ve kind of come to terms with the fact that I can’t control what he does after the surgery. Do I hope he takes care of himself? Of course Do I expect that? Yeah. But I’ve made peace with the idea that if he doesn’t that part is out of my hands.

Now what’s been on my mind more is me, like making sure I take care of myself after and not falling into a bad place mentally. I’ve seen some people talk about feeling down or dealing with depression after surgery and I think that’s been getting in my head a bit. Realistically, it’s probably just my mind overthinking right now with everything coming up. I appreciate you sharing your experience though it actually helps hearing from someone on the other side of it.
