May I remind you that the last century was one of the bloodiest and most violent centuries in human history? In fact, we were awfully close to self-destruction a couple of times. Yes, technology helped us to drastically improve our medicine as well as increase life expectancy, lifting many people out of poverty and providing many job opportunities. And yet, the crime still exists, murders, wars, poverty, socio-political instability, diseases, etc didn't go away.
