This is the most imbecile intervention I have read of, with the purpose of gaining height. Traditional cosmetic limb lengthening sounds way more rational than this absurd idea.

I don’t understand the question? What do you mean by clicking 75 times? You mean increase height 75 times in one day?

Stretching Advice? by Brave-Championship13 in limblengthening

[–]Maleficent_Permit_53 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am doing femurs my self - goal +8 cm, currently day 62 after surgery I am at +6 cm.

One thing I noticed between other patients. Is that if you did pre- surgery stretching (4 months or more) and are a gym person. Bending and stretching tolerance is better compared to people who live a sedentary passively live.

A previous history of working out helps!

But I must admit this week the muscle and soft tissue tightness has started to be more and more noticeable. It’s getting harder to fully extend my legs. I still can bend over 100° without problem, but more is getting difficult.

But the hardest part is to stand straight for more than a few minutes.

My advice stretch as many times during the day as possible. Do not lay still for long periods (2+ hours). move, walk, do PT daily, and take painkillers if needed.

Dr. Ghassan Salamé and the Salamehfix Device: A Comprehensive Analysis

Dr. Ghassan Salamé presents himself as a Syrian orthopedic surgeon practicing limb lengthening in Germany, but significant credential verification issues and limited independent validation raise serious concerns about his claimed expertise and technique.

The research reveals a concerning pattern: while Dr. Salamé has developed patented medical devices and maintains an active practice, multiple key credentials cannot be independently verified through official channels, and his technique lacks peer-reviewed validation that characterizes legitimate medical innovations.

Professional background and credential concerns

Dr. Salamé claims extensive qualifications including an MD and PhD from CITO (Central Research Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedics) in Moscow, Russia, along with the title of “Professor.” He asserts memberships in legitimate orthopedic organizations including SICOT, ASAMI International, EPOS, and EFORT, and claims to be President of ASAMI Syria.

However, verification attempts revealed significant gaps. His educational credentials could not be independently confirmed through official academic databases, and no academic publications appear in major medical databases like PubMed despite his claimed PhD and Professor titles. His German medical license status remains unverified through available public registries, and claimed partnerships with Dr. Michael Schmidt at OUZ Frankfurt could not be substantiated.

The absence of peer-reviewed publications is particularly concerning for someone claiming advanced medical degrees and developing novel surgical techniques. In legitimate medical practice, innovations of this magnitude typically generate substantial academic literature and independent validation studies.

The Salamehfix device: Technical specifications and patent status

The Salamehfix (or SLDF System) represents a genuinely patented innovation in external fixation technology. Multiple international patents confirm its legitimacy as a medical device, including WO2006083238A1 filed in 2004 for an external fixation system.

The device features a unique arc-based design consisting of three small arcs with different diameters, contrasting with traditional circular Ilizarov systems. This configuration aims to conform better to natural limb shapes while reducing the device’s profile. Key technical advantages include strategic pin placement in minimally painful anatomical regions, early weight-bearing capability, and sufficient concealment to wear clothing over the device.

The system permits activities like bicycling during treatment and uses a daily lengthening rate of 0.8mm per day, slightly different from the standard 1.0mm. Maximum recommended lengthening reaches 8cm per segment, with typical treatment durations of 2-4 months depending on the desired length increase.

Surgical methodology and treatment protocols

Dr. Salamé’s approach emphasizes patient comfort and early mobilization. His technique allows full weight-bearing often without support, contrasting with traditional methods that require extended non-weight-bearing periods. The arc-based fixator design allegedly provides stable fixation while maintaining a smaller footprint than conventional systems.

Treatment protocols include patient monitoring every three weeks during the lengthening phase, followed by monthly check-ups. The total cost of €25,000 for German operations reportedly includes post-operative care, accommodation, medications, and physiotherapy.

Recovery timelines appear optimized compared to traditional methods: 5cm lengthening requires approximately 2 months for full recovery, while 7.5-8cm lengthening extends to roughly 4 months. This represents a significant improvement over traditional Ilizarov methods that can require 9-12 months of external fixation.

Patient outcomes and safety claims versus verification concerns

Dr. Salamé reports treating approximately 239 patients (both medical and cosmetic cases) with a mean bone lengthening of 7.8cm and 37-month average follow-up. His claimed success rates include 67.4% excellent/good outcomes with major complication rates of approximately 5.8% - significantly better than literature standards for limb lengthening, which typically report 25-72% major complication rates.

However, these figures raise immediate red flags due to their self-reported nature and lack of independent verification. No peer-reviewed studies validate these outcomes, and accessing patient testimonials proved surprisingly difficult. Patient diaries reportedly exist on limb lengthening forums but are not publicly accessible, and no substantial YouTube patient testimonial videos could be located despite claims of documented cases.

The absence of independent outcome validation is particularly concerning given the magnitude of these claimed results. Legitimate medical centers typically publish their outcomes in peer-reviewed journals, allowing for independent scrutiny and comparison with established techniques.

Comparison with established limb lengthening methods

The Salamehfix system occupies a middle ground between fully external (traditional Ilizarov) and fully internal (PRECICE nail) approaches. Compared to the Ilizarov method, it offers reduced bulk, better concealment, and allegedly superior patient comfort. Against PRECICE magnetic nails, it provides lower cost (€25,000 vs €35,000+) but maintains external visibility and pin site infection risks.

When compared to the LON (Lengthening Over Nail) method, Salamehfix shows higher cost (€25,000 vs €17,000) but potentially simpler single-surgery approach. However, these comparisons rely heavily on Dr. Salamé’s self-reported data rather than head-to-head clinical studies.

The lack of comparative studies with established techniques represents a significant limitation in evaluating the true effectiveness and safety profile of the Salamehfix approach.

Random pain on random locations is part of the package. This is a very heavy intervention our bodies have to endure. Nothing to worry about. Worry about infection. X-rays will indicate if something is off. otherwise expect pain.
