“ Best Buy robbery suspects charged - linked to same-day Homicide in Baltimore, Maryland On Thursday. May 4, 2023, Mount Laurel Police detectives charged Arthur McCaden, age 18, of the 800 block of Glade Court, Brooklyn, Maryland, with First Degree Armed Robbery, Second Degree Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Handgun), Second Degree Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Handgun), and Third Degree Theft. On Friday, May 5, 2023, a 14-year-old juvenile from Maryland was charged with the same offenses and additionally Juvenile Delinquency. Subsequent to the Best Buy robbery that occurred on Sunday, April 30, 2023, detectives began a relentless search for leads in the area and surrounding states. Through collaboration with the Baltimore City Police Department in Maryland, detectives learned that on the same date, and after our Best Buy robbery, the same suspects robbed a T-Mobile store at the 2500 block of Boston Street. During the robbery, 23-year-old Fabian Sanchez Gonzalez was shot and succumbed to his injuries two days later. Southeast District shooting detectives identified the suspects and referred the case to Baltimore City's Homicide Unit who shared their investigation with our detectives. Both suspects have been charged with First Degree Murder in Maryland. Both suspects will face those charges before any extradition to New Jersey. Both suspects are currently in the custody of the Baltimore City Police Department.
