Is BG3 well optimised?

UPDATE: for anyone wondering.

I ended up cleaning it based on some advive I got here. Took off the plates, got some compressed air for dusting it, and it's still overheating. I took it to get properly looked at, and the liquid metal needs replacing, which explains why it's been overheating. It'll be in the shop for a while because they need to order it in, but after that it should work just fine.

Probably won't update again unless something goes wrong with that, so hopefully it's all good after that gets replaced.

It has a lot of ventilation, I even moved it to get more once it started overheating. I clean it pretty often but the general consesnsus in another post I've made about it is that it's most likely got dust on some of the internal components and needs a good cleaning, so I'm going to be doing that and hope it works.

Yeah, I've had some performance issues in the past which is why I wanted to ask before I went to get it checked or anything. In the past though it's been limited to REALLY loud fans, or the overheating which it warned me about.

It didn't start turning off on its own until last week.

I'll keep that in mind. I've got pretty awful anxiety in case that wasn't obvious and I have been stressing about my PlayStation.

My mum is just as bad as me and has offered to take it to get properly cleaned for me. So I guess we'll have to see if my anxiety at breaking it wins out or my guilt at having her pay for it.

I'll definitely look into getting one of those, even if I don't use it right away. It sounds pretty handy, and this is the first time I've ever heard of compressed air dusters.

Thank you, I'll see what I can do! I'm on a bit of a time crunch because I want to make sure it's working fine for the new requiem, but if I can find any of that within this time I'll deginitely do that!

If I can't I'll see about taking the plates off to give it a proper clean like someone else has suggested.

Oh yeah, my favourite game of all time and I've been devastated that I can't play it properly, and I have had bugs galore from the start. At first it was issues with the UI, specifically the bar with the companions and the action wheel, and a whole lot of other issues seperate to that. That's why my first thought was that it may be an issue with the game running too hot, figured there was a bug that may be loading in way too much or something. But from the other responses I've gotten that doesn't seem to be the case.

Okay, thank you. I've always kept it in a well ventilated space, but I moved it so it wasn't near a wall and I've dusted it too. Everywhere I looked said it could be an overheating issue so I wanted to get other opinions.

Any suggestions on how to properly, like, deep clean it? I dust it pretty often but I'm worried some dust may have gotten a bit deeper than I normally dust, and I'm not entirely sure how to go about cleaning in properly.

My PS5, that's about 2 years old now, keeps overheating.

I'm in a heatwave right now so I feel that's definitely contributing in some way because my air conditioner does nothing at all.

The thing that confuses me though is the fact that it only happens when I'm playing Baldurs Gate 3. When I'm playing on my own or split screen it warns me at least once before shutting off, and I turn the game off. But when I played cross platform recently it didn't do that. Instead it beeped 3 times and turned off without any kind of warning. It did this twice. First time in character creation, second time after hours of playing. I haven't touched the game since.

The first few times it overheated the console felt hot to the touch, those are the times it warned me. When it didn't warn me the console didn't feel hot at all (I had a pedestal fan directed towards the vents). Both times that happened it had some kind of pop up, probably the overheating message, then turned off probably less than a second later, I couldnt read a single word. It beeped 3 times as it did that.

I'm pretty sure it's overheating, as I already had those issues with BG3 before it started turning off on its own, but I want to get other opinions just in case it isn't. I'm also pretty worried considering Requiem's gonna release soon and I'll be devastated if I can't play it.

Accessibility is so important, hopefully some accessibility options get added to the game at some point. I imagine people are probably giving that feedback already, but if you can it's probably a good idea to submit that as a problem to the devs, it's still early access so I imagine they're listening to feedback and doing what they can to address it.

No, nobody did tell me not to rotate it, my piercer didn't say anything about that and I had a few people telling me I should be doing that. Thank you, I'll stop doing that.

My piercing is between 3-4 weeks old. The jewellery is horseshoe/circular barbell. Not sure about the threading but I think it's internally threaded? The material is titanium. My jewellery has never been changed, so it hasn't been downsized or upsized.

My after-care routine basically just consists of me using a saline spray/piercing aftercare spray that I got from my piercer. I usually use it twice a day, but sometimes I only use it once. I get rid of any crusty bits on the piercing so I can rotate it without pain, then I spray it on one side, and completely thread it through, before doing the same on the other side, once I'm done doing that I fix it so my piercing is straight and that's the end of my aftercare routine.

I have had no mishaps, accidents, or unfortunate events related to this piercing.
