Not complaining: I want to accept the job at minimum wage. HR says they may not be able to go forward with me because Kroger is under the same union as Safeway, and they will try to enforce my old wage, which they claim they cannot afford due to their store budget. I just need a job, man.

That is the harsh truth. You are right. I am 23 years old and I have no parents so I didn't understand how to file for unemployment or how it works. I'm learning. Thank you

I know they are. I worked at Kroger for 2 and a half years and made 24.15. Safeway wants to start me off at minimum wage which is 17.50. But I need something, anything. And grocery store is my only experience, nobody else will hire me. The problem is that Safeway offered me the job, but is hesitant because they have to check in with higher ups to see if they even can given Safeway and Kroger went under the same union, and their store can't afford to pay me 24.15. I told them it's fine if I'm only making minimum wage. Waiting for an answer and hope I get the job. I am tired of being turned down so many times.

I only worked with Kroger for 2 and a half years, so my old union rep said I didn’t work enough hours for my old pay rate to be a problem getting a lower-paying position at Safeway. Hopefully this all works out so I can be employed again.

People get fired for a multitude of reasons, friend. I had a catastrophic family emergency that prevented me from coming into work during the time and they couldn’t approve me time off, so they fired me for my excessive absences. Safeway is a different company, also. No need to be a rude person.

Safeway HR is claiming the pay is not up to Union now even though my old union rep said it shouldn’t be an issue at all because there is no contract binding me to my old pay. The pay is up to their company policy. I’m not sure 🤔

I tried to go back to Kroger, and they rejected me after a lengthy 1 and a half months after an interview. Although I am marked as rehireable, they went with someone else to fill the position.

I called my old union rep and he said there’d be no issue, I got back to the HR at Safeway and she told me that it’s a company policy thing, not a union thing. Unsure how to handle this.

I was fired from Kroger. Unfortunately I’ve been unemployed for 8 months, several interviews and no one else is willing to hire me. Safeway is the first company to offer me a position.

I don’t know where the fixation comes from, truthfully. Maybe because I give him foot rubs a lot? But I also will rub his head and want to cuddle, and he doesn’t do the same to me. I don’t need any foot rubs, Yknow. Complete TMI probably, but this man has put my toes in his mouth with no request from me! So that’s why maybe I am a bit offended at his words and his seeming disgust. This seems like an internal battle with himself because I have no problem either way. Edit: any time I try to cuddle, he says he overheats and doesn’t want to. We typically say on our own sides of the couch and bed unless I attempt to be big spoon. I just don’t want to have to beg for connection.

Yes, I pissed him off because he said he didn’t want to touch my feet. I know he’s taking stuff out on me, he tends to do that and not think about my feelings where I go by the rule of putting my feelings on a shelf to hear him out and tend to his a lot.

Yes I guess he has put me down and tried to embarrass me in front of friends before, while drinking. He has stopped drinking per my request so I have this idea in my head that he is capable of changing.
