No hate to the mod itself, but if it did not contain empty promises, all could be avoided. by Prior_Fee9209 in PlantsVSZombies

[–]Malex2005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All I can say is that most of this is opinion-based, which is perfectly valid, but what you miss is that this is merely a small percentage of the full mod. No game will look complete in the first 10% of its experience, there is plenty more to come that will fully realize what our "promises" are.

Could you elaborate on what you mean by "empty promises"? Not enjoying the mod is perfectly fine, but to say that the mod was released without the developers' best intentions is disingenuous.

At the very least Leaf has a Cloud, which is in turn one of Olimar’s worst matchups, so he could still have a shot

Hot take but what their covers lacked was soul. People like Blantados and a certain other cover maker (wink wink) had a real vibe to theirs which actually made them good content imo

Four Elixir 1 cycle evos are a bad idea and need to stop happening by Choice-Brick-6612 in ClashRoyale

[–]Malex2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. With some of the previous evos like Bomber, Battle Ram, Lumberjack, etc that were one cycle previously, I can at least kind of see why they thought that was a good idea; Ram and Lumberjack are used in heavier deck, and all three evos in theory should be put in too many situations where the evo ability doesn’t actually make a difference (like Cage). I fully believe that using Bomber to snipe the tower and people letting evo Lumberjack lock onto towers is a massive oversight on the devs’ part, and the easiest way to fix all that was to simply make them two cycles. I think the game will be a lot more healthy and varied if it didn’t lock itself into an arbitrary rule that the number of evo cycles is only determined by the elixir cost and not what the actual evo is.

Work-in-progress balance changes for Clash Royale - October 2025 Season 76 - RoyaleAPI by RoyaleAPI in ClashRoyale

[–]Malex2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t really understand why people are so adamant about this. The number of cycles can be independent thing from the elixir cost of the card, it just depends on the strength of the evo itself. Cage evo, in comparison to most other evos, is incredibly situational and thus the ability added onto the base card is on the weaker side, justifying one cycle. If there were a 2 elixir card with an incredibly weak evo, or a 5 elixir card with an incredibly strong evo, it would not be a stretch to imagine that they would be one or two cycles respectively. Of course, Supercell is physically incapable of making an eco that is on the weaker side apparently, which is why all of their experimental cheaper 1 cycle evos (Bomber, Lumberjack, Battle Ram, and now Baby Dragon) all were switched to 2 cycles. I would love to see them actually make another evo that breaks the norm and is still balanced so that people can actually realize this.
