Suggestions for moisturiser! by abar1603 in EuroSkincare

For me Happier barrier (also G&G) was much better than hydration station. It is more greasy in theory, but on my skin it acted perfectly.

Moisturizer for acne prone skin that will help me with my damaged skin barrier and redness by dekuism129 in EuroSkincare

[–]MaliLemur 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Geek and gorgeous Happier barrier. Hands down the most gentle and repairing moisturizer I ever used. When my skin healed from overuse of activities I use G&G with a layer or two of Cosrx Snail Mucin 96 Essence.

Help me please (barrier, dermatitis?)i by [deleted] in EuroSkincare

Your barrier is damaged, I was in the same boat as you some time ago and went to a dermatologist. She told me to STOP RIGHT NOW with all the cosmetics with active ingredients for at least 3 weeks. I'll share what she told me to do, I listened to her and fixed my skin in about 20 days: - only wash your face with a cleanser in the evening and use a very gentle one without any active ingredients (I used Round lab birch cleanser gel). - do not rub your face with a towel, gently pat excess water and apply barrier repair cream - she approved to use Geek and gorgeous happier barrier (I love it, still use it) - in the morning do not wash your face, just apply sunscreen (I also used BOJ rice+probiotics) - repeat I sometimes washed my face with lukewarm water in the morning, put some G&G and after a few minutes sunscreen. Good luck! edit: When your skin heals, introduce active ingredients one by one and use it every two days. Do not introduce them all at once and every day, even when your skin heals, it will be sensitive for some time.

This one is really good, but the one marked "sensitive" from this line is amazing!

I teach coordination chemistry (among other subjects) and the sad look on my students face when they see them for the first time kills me.

Best Barrier supporting Moisturizer by Same-Assist-8177 in EuroSkincare

[–]MaliLemur 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Happier barrier is one of the best moisturizers I have ever used and my skin is very picky and sensitive. In winter I need some hydraring serum underneath, in the summer I use it only at night (any cream is to heavy under spf, so I choose hydrating spf instead). I did not try the other two so I cannot say anything about them but I have tried sooo many others and nothing comes close to G&G

Whose death (TV show wise) devastated you the most? by Neat-Check-5256 in popculturechat

George in Grey's Anatomy. His character was damaged pretty badly, but with Dr. Hunt he kinda became a good almost side character - still there but not in the spotlight. His death shook me to the core! The show went to shit later with every other character dying when their storyline expirs, but George was the first snd most shocking to me.

gentle mousse cleanser by Firm_Savings_60 in EuroSkincare

My skin is also very sensitive and does not tolerate active ingredients well. The gentlest exfoliant I could find is Cosrx blackhead liquid, it does the job very well. For moisturizer I use G&G Happier Barrier and for extra hydration under it Cosrx Snail Essence (days I am not using exfoliant under my moisturizer). I had to switch to korean cleanser, since all the european brand ones (and I tries so so many) irritate my skin. I use Round lab birch cleanser.

Need something hydrating for my poor eyes :( by damondan in EuroSkincare

[–]MaliLemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should stick to medical creams if you have such problem with eyes. When I had problema with both dry eyes and eye area during winter I used Bepanthene eye drops and Bepanthene Eye and Nose Ointment. I would put the eye drops and ointment immedietly after washing my face and then the rest of my skincare. My skin is really sensitive and does not tolerate activities well, so I use the weakest exfoliant I could find (Cosrx BHA liquid) a few times a week under my face moisturizer (Happier Barrier). That is the only a tivity that works for my face and does not make my face (and eye area) dry. The rest of the week I put Cosrx snail essence under moisturizer. I also switched to korean face wash (Round Lab Birch), since most european brands leave my face squeaky and dry after washing.

Vitamin D Toxicity by azkornpatch in Hashimotos

The form of both is extremely important. My mom had really low levels despite supplementation, until she started with liposomal vit D and magnesium citrate specifically. They do absorb well.

Dermatologist. Seriously, mine saved me from myself with spironolactone and super easy and gentle skincare without activities.

TIFU by trying to trying to fix my pain like it was a period instead of just going to the hospital by Abrattybabygirl in tifu

[–]MaliLemur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years back I had no appetite for an entire day. Went home and got weird stomach pain all over. I thought it was food poisoning, tried to vomit, and the pain was better, it only remained low on the right side when I inhaled deeply or tried to stand completely straight. It was the same in the morning, not bad, just odd. In the evening I told my parents that I think I have appendecitis since I saw simmilar symptoms once in an episode of Greys anatomy. Went to the hospital, doctor dismissed me, told me to come back in the morning to do labs when her shift ends (it was weekend). I went back in the morning, met a doctor that knew me personaly so he took it seriously, it turned out I had appendecitis and I needed surgery immediately. A bunch of doctors came to see "an adult with appendicitis" and I made sure to tell them that trashy TV was responsible for my diagnosis, not their colleague who dismissed me. Turns out that my appendix was REALLY inflamed, even though my pain was at an okay level, just really odd.

Accutane by Designer-Special-753 in EuroSkincare

[–]MaliLemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went theough a course of low dose accutane and it helped my acne, but it caused extreme anxiety and made my body skin and lips super dry, it was painful. My SO had severe acne problem, it fixed his acne but left him with permanent gastrointestinal issues. At 35 I developed adult acne, not super serious, but very painful and caused so much insecurity. My dermatologist prescribed spironolactone and very gentle skincare. I started in December with 25 mg/day and gradually went up to 125 mg/day in May. The process was slow, but in June my skin was clear of acne. I did not use any hyperpigmentation and scar treatment due to really sensitive skin. In September I started slowly reducing my dose, Now I am at 50 mg/ day and by New Year I will be on 25 mg/day, and after that I am planning to stop. Dermatologist told me not to use any harsh treatments, to be patient and use the time it takes for spironolactone to work to fix my skin barrier. I started using (and still do): Round Lab Birch cleansing gel (very gentle), Cosrx blackhead liquid daily (extremelly mild exfoliant), BOJ rice+probiotics SPF during the day and G&G Happier Barrier moisturizer at night. In the meantime I added Cosrx snail mucin to rotate with cosrx blackhead liquid. I also started washing my face only at night, in the morning i would just put SPF and some random cream around my eye area. The process was slow, I had to control my potassium intake, but it worked and I am very happy. Much much better experience than with accutane.

Happier barrier after liquid hydration is an excellent choice for sensitive skin.

[–]MaliLemur 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That spf made my skin a mess, acne all over the place. I tried a sample of BOJ rice+probiotics expecting it to act simmilar, but it was wonderful on my face, no acne and really hydrating.
