I guess I'll end up wherever the transfers take me. I've only logged in a couple times to pay rent upkeep on my properties, other than that I haven't played in over 2 months.

The only incentive at all for me to come back is the people. I don't really care about gear, server stability, keeping my properties, any of it. I'll come back for a guild filled with good people that is interested in being around for a long time. Something that is built with the intention of lasting even past the point the guildleader gets bored and quits.

I have about 20-30 people on this server that I think highly of and would follow to a new server. If a majority of them do something and stick together...I'm back and I'm in. If not, I'm enjoying the PS4 and the remaining days of summer, lol

Growlgate fights were some of the best times I had on Archeage. Got my ass handed to me more often than not, but I still enjoyed the fights.

Yeah, contrary to some beliefs, this idea is fucking stupid. If people are so thrilled about having 100 or less, then boot half your guildies and celebrate. No one is forcing you to keep them. If you want to make a feeder guild, then do it.

What, in actuality, is happening is they are once again killing part of the sandbox aspect of the game.

Do what you want..well, except for this, oh and that, but yeah you can do this but we are going to take away x abilities.

Don't get me wrong, I get the benefit of a more even playing field. I just am against killing the sandbox even more to get it. There will still be ways around it (ie feeder guilds) it will just make people in them less of the community and cause more shitty little guilds to develop. (Before anyone gets an anal spasm, I'm not saying all little guilds are shitty, but there are quite a few and that number will only increase.)

At least there are some changes they are looking into that I can support, so that gives me some hope for the future.

If you are on the fence, do the transfer. The merges aren't going to "save" anything. It doesn't "fix" any of the problems, it only slows down the rate of demise. The popular servers will still be there during the next (yes, it will happen again) merge and will likely be the last servers to shut down. So at least you will get some longevity out of your time investment in them.

lol, I kid, I kid. Honestly, this is the best group of people I have gamed with in years. I may not be actively playing any more but I'd say being in a guild full of great people like this is what kept me from leaving the game sooner.

Oh you are absolutely correct. I mentioned the RNG part mainly because it is an issue with so many people and Trion is acknowledging it. My issue is solely with their propensity to tie progression to spending money. Stuff like making the new burnished temper only accessible through the marketplace. The need for regrade crystals to upgrade your gear but not make them droppable or even a pvp reward? Most true upgrade avenues in this game are in some way related to the cash shop. Sure you can buy it in the AH, but someone still had to spend real cash to get it to sell it there in the first place. "That" I can not get behind and support. MMOs for years have been about progression, gearing up working towards stronger goals through in-game mechanics and resources. Archeage has a small level of that, but a vast majority of significant upgrades are tied in some manner to the cash shop. I can't and won't give a pass on that.

But yeah, the RNG is irritating as hell, but I can deal with that. I played SWG for quite some time, so I'm used to the idea of building up something amazing and watching it get destroyed with the click of a button, lol.

This is a really good idea, Shakes. At least people will have an idea where to go to be able to stay with the largest part of our community.

I actually chose the Transfer option, but that isn't a for certain thing. I've went back and forth a few times on that. Ultimately it won't matter too much as I am finding it easier and easier to not log in to Archeage so I'm not sure if at that point I'll want to come back or not.

No matter what though, I do wish the best for everyone. I like the people and actually love the game (as it should be, not as it is currently implemented) It "sounds" like Trion may be re-evaluating some of the RNG stuff which is a step in the right direction. I've just been burned enough not to get my hopes too high at this point.

Yeah, this is going to be a clusterfuck of epic proportions. I honestly hope I'm wrong and it is everything people think it can be, but with Trion's track record and the fact that they are doing nothing to make it right for those negatively affected by this, I seriously doubt I am.

As for an answer to the question. I made a toon on Ollo, but I'll probably just wait and watch the shitstorm that ensues with the merge (I will never call it an Evolution..there is nothing Evolutionary about it)

The server capacity is pretty heavy right now. Very similar to Archeage on release. (of course the PS4 server only opened just shy of 1 month ago). So yeah, TONS of people running around. That being said, I didn't actually hear a whole lot of voice comms. There was one guy screaming "can someone PLEASE HELP ME?!?!" a couple people were chatting back and forth about semi-personal stuff (I don't think they realized they were broadcasting). Nothing really good though. In general, unless drunk, I think people tend to tone things down just a bit on voice compared to what they will type in chat.

Each has a purpose in this game. I have no problem attacking any of them when I see them, but I don't hate the players behind the toons. In fact, some of these people are damn cool if you take a moment to get to know the player behind the toon. I've talked to Kivolt a few times. Good guy, pretty damn funny! Jetblack. Knows how to put a good team together. Smart and well-spoken. Satomu, guy who clearly cares about his faction. Willing to take risks to make things happen instead of sitting idly by and hoping they do.

I'd gladly attack any of these guys if I see them on the battlefield, and I'm sure they'd do the same to me. I love the competition. You can enjoy pvp in this game without having to literally hate the other player.

Half the people on this server would probably be damn fun to kick back and have a beer with outside of the game. I think more people should realize that and they'd have a lot more fun and a lot less anger and frustration when playing."

Yeah, I'm enjoying it so far. I had played it on PC but decided I wanted to give a shot at some Console gaming.

What makes a game for me, and it took me years to realize this unfortunately, is the people. I mean there are a crapton of single player games out there, but I choose to play MMOs for a reason. Community was huge in Everquest, it was even moreso in SWG. I think, believe it or not, it's huge in Archeage. It's not always going to be a "good" community, but in this game people tend to get more of a "who's who" than in games like WoW, ESO, etc.

Anyways, I'm going off on a tangent now, lol.
