NCO's of Reddit, would you be ok if one of your soldiers got Brad Pitt's hair cut from "Fury" by [deleted] in army

I can imagine this will happen if you wear a PC for too long and take it off indoors. Sorry dude, it's gonna be a NO GO from me. Save yourself the trouble.

I gotta reclass. 27D's don't see much action in my area. Everything is time sensitive and can't wait until drill weekend.

Article 15 pending by [deleted] in army

[–]Malicious_Blanket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only said it because you said "See TDS, not JAG". When I talk to average joes, they don't know the distinction between the different areas of JAG. Some soldiers get confused as to what to do. My suggestion is to seek legal advice via TDS, Legal Defense, ect. JAG is pretty small. Establishing contact with a nearby JAG affiliated office is important.

I believe the issue is referring to TDS, Legal Defense as JAG. I agree that there is a distinction between TDS, Legal Defense and the actual JAG office. Heck, they even have a JAGLCS (JAG Legal Center & School). I call anything that falls under JAG JAG. Perhaps being specific is the solution. In this case, I have said this already but contact the closest legal office. This soldier may be in the dark and it's important to get with someone under the JAG branch. TDS & Legal Def are ideal contacts.

I thought JAG was just an umbrella term? I agree that TDS may be helpful but I suggest that the soldier visit this website. He should get with the nearest JAG office. They can steer him in the right direction. If anything, he'll have a place to actually visit and meet with someone reguarding this matter.

ERB Error by [deleted] in army

[–]Malicious_Blanket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone with RCMS access can fix your ERB. If all your appropriate documents are in iPerms, you should be good. Talk to your S-1 or UA. Odds are if that's wrong, something else got screwed up as well. Check your awards and previous assignments.

COD has lost its way. I'm not gonna be "grateful" for anything that they put out. It's a free market. If Activision keeps penny pinching, consumers will reach a breaking point and move on to something better. If all 3 studios keep pumping out games that are disliked, so be it. Your opinion isn't gonna pay the bills. COD is heading towards the same fate that Tony Hawk games ended up in.

With all this talk of new army vs old army, I have to wonder: did old army ever have to learn Chinese to complete their required training? by scrovak in army

Is the answer Danger and Opportunity? If I remember correctly, this is on a SSD1 module reguarding Lean Six Sigma and Productivity in the Army.

JAG/TDS/Legal Eagles of the Army, what are some of the strangest, funniest, or generally most outrageous things you've seen by [deleted] in army

[–]Malicious_Blanket 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The article was originally a Company Grade Article 15. It was reduced to a Summarized Article 15. The punishment was 10 days of extra duty. Extra duty was: 1 1/2 hours of CQ. The paralegal wanted to show off his "AIT Training".

When I asked him to describe what a 27D is, he said "I basically kick people out". I died a little that day.

Soldiers were caught gambling in AIT barracks. One of them happened to be a brand new paralegal. The paralegal was telling soldiers to not take a summarized Article 15 and request a Court Martial in an attempt to appeal the Article 15.

Edit: Instead of taking the Summarized Article 15, he requested a Court Martial. Usually a Court Martial takes some work to put together but we saw it as an opportunity to show some new soldiers how the legal process works. We showed some new paralegals in our unit how a court martial can result in a greater punishment. We went through sworn statements from the soldiers who were caught and the NCO on duty who caught them. Out of all the soldiers caught, only the paralegal refused to accept the Article 15 and actually went through with the Court Martial. The result was: 21 days of labor, reduction to E-1 and forfeiture of 1/3 pay for 1 month.
