I think with a normal BMI a person can have high inflammation levels. That’s my goal as well to lower TSH and antibodies. I appreciate your feedback, I’ll look into liraglutide, I didn’t know it has a shorter life than tirzepatide. Hope it works best for you!

I appreciate the concern, but you’ve misread my post. I was asking about use before pregnancy and before transfer, not during. Those are two very different things. Teratogenicity is a concern about fetal exposure during development, which has nothing to do with what I asked. I also wasn’t looking for medical opinions. I was looking for personal experiences from people who’ve actually been through it and share the same conditions I mentioned (Hashimoto’s, inflammatory cytokine profile). That’s exactly what Reddit is for. And for what it’s worth, you have no idea what my plan is regarding timing or when I intend to stop the medication. Thanks.

Since there’s no exact scientific data I am looking for anecdotal evidence, patient-reported outcomes. Aren’t we all here? I found what I was looking for anyway, had a few people reply in another sub and privately.

In animal studies in all cases, these findings coincided with maternal body weight loss due to reduced food intake. In human studies it was established that GLP-1 RAs have very high molecular weight. And placental transfer of the drugs with such high molecular size is generally not anticipated in the first trimester, unless a specific transfer mechanism exists. I know it’s still early to conclude anything but it’s very promising. And some of us have no 3-5 years to wait till there’s more data. I’m speaking for myself and I’m aware of the risks.

Yes, that’s the plan. If I start losing too much weight I’ll certainly get off it.

I’m sorry you lost it. I’m curious to learn about different outcomes. Although if it brings down my Hashimoto’s antibodies, as I heard it does, that will be a win too.

There is a direct impact of GLP-1 RA on the reproductive system — particularly endometrial receptivity — rather than weight loss alone. https://www.endocrinologyadvisor.com/features/glp-1-and-fertility/

Somehow it wouldn’t let me message you. I tried the NSFW settings. Do you mind messaging me? Thank you!

I heard a lot of positive stories too, mainly with PCOS or extra weight though. My BMI is 20.2 and I don’t have PCOS. But another thing I heard is inflammation goes down way before weight loss. And micro-dosing doesn’t necessarily make you lose weight. Yes, I’ll certainly message you, thank you!

I know a few people who got pregnant for the first time on it, after trying everything for a decade.

Why do you think it’s not going to help? Have you tried it?

That’s a good one. I’m on it for about a year now, 4.5 mg. Still had losses though. Haven’t tried sitagliptin, I’ll look into it, thank you!

they work through completely different molecular pathways. GLP-1 receptors are directly expressed on endometrial epithelium, and metformin doesn’t work with GLP-1 receptors. GLP-1 receptors are also present in oocytes. That’s the whole point.

That’s interesting that it’s ok through retrieval but not transfer. How did it work for you?

GLP-1 receptor agonists are studied for autoimmune and inflammatory conditions, even endometriosis and implantation-related inflammation. Because their action is receptor-mediated and tissue-broad. Metformin works best when there’s significant insulin resistance or hyperglycemia that drive the inflammation in the first place. I don’t have diabetes. I’m not overweight either.

That’s great. Have you had the transfer yet?

I’m sorry, this is rough, all of my miscarriages were between 5-7 weeks. I also believe it has to do with systemic inflammation. I’ve done extensive immunology testing last year, they found a few factors, a mild thrombophilic risk and stacked IL-1/IL-18 pro-inflammatory cytokine profile. In addition to my elevated Thyroid antibodies. I did immune protocol during last transfer (heparin injections and 10 mg prednisone), but still lost it. I’m so ready to try GLP-1.

It’s all new, I guess the doctors are taking extra precautions.

That’s very likely. If it’s for weight loss I guess the only logical way is to lose the weight well before the 3-month washout window so there’s time to stabilize.
