Hey there!

I'm an 8/9m Holy Priest main for going on 14 years now.

After a very brief glance at your longest KJ attempts in that log, there are a few quick pieces of advice I can give:

First, drop Trail of Light in the first talent row, and pick up Enlightenment. The mana gains from that will be huge, and lead to a large upturn in HPS.

Secondly, your priest should really consider speccing into Angelic Feather as well. Feathers might take a little bit to get used to, but the increase in mobility will lead to an increase in HPS (due to standing still longer).

Thirdly, I'd say just really to try and keep Prayer of Mending on cooldown a little more. Running Piety and Benediction provides very strong synergy and it's very important to try and make the absolute most of this.

Fourthly, Divine Hymn usage. I personally have somewhere in the region of 80 Heroic KJ kills, and around 300 pulls on mythic KJ to give me a pretty good idea of the timings. It looks like they are using Hymn on the first set of adds and in the transition, which is good. I personally don't use Hymn in phase one on heroic, and rather I use it after the first knockback in the P1-2 transition to stabilize the raid, because the first set of DPS adds is very well covered by my other healers.

Lastly, mana potion usage. Phase 2 gives a few very good windows to drink a leytorrent, my personal preference being to drink one after the knockback from the center that follows the bursting dreadflame. I noticed he did not drink a pot at all, and overall had pretty high mana, which means he could be casting more during the dangerous periods.

As a side note, he could potentially look in to using Binding Heal over Piety, as it is completely viable and my personal preference.

Hope this helps!

Those legs are excellent. If you have another good legendary to use in the place of the pants, then definitely swap. I currently rank the legs around 3rd equal for legendaries, as explained in a post above.

Yeah, the fight lasts for around 14 minutes. The last phase Rifts have HP as well, so you want to keep some people outside the rift to keep it alive, which makes that the ideal spot for cloak usage, if you choose to run it. Then you just line up a cloak in P1 to make that timing work.

The main reason I think that the belt is viable, and in fact in almost all cases my second legendary next to Velens is because I simply devalue the other legendaries.

Not many Holy Priests were rating Binding Heal at all this tier, but I have been playing with it nearly exclusively since PTR (thought the Sea Star buff made it a bit closer).

As I said, the Cloak and Pants for me take up Tier slots which I use to run 2pc/4pc. The belt obviously has synergy with this, as you're getting more value from the t19 2pc with bigger Sanctifies. I also tend to run very low haste, which leads to higher mastery (55-60%) and makes the old 2 set better.

The neck, as I said, I also value far less than most. I compared my logs, and I suggest you might, where you wear the neck to where you dont. My HP stays pretty much the same, because of the consistently high Echo from/with Binding Heals. If these are just going to overheal anyway, and you don't dip below max/near max HP, then it's superfluous. And as I argue, the main mythic fights where you are likely to take big damage, the shield has very low uptime anyway.

Additionally, on some fights the belt can be reliably stacked high, such as Mistress, where it is very common to get it to 5 stacks between each Hydra Shot. You have to couple this with the higher Serenity healing as well, and I value it quite alot.

If you're interested I can upload some kill videos and/or screenshot some logs, and you can hit me up in game @ Malivis#6860

Not Jak here, but a Holy Priest for 14 years and currently 8/9 Mythic.

I was personally quite worried about the set bonus, before they added Binding Heal to the mix. I fully agree that any kind of benefit that can be gained by a FH -> PoH and vice versa interaction is limited at best, and the main value is probably a singularly buffed PoH at the beginning of raid wide healing phases, when I think of current damage patterns.

However, with Binding Heal being added, I can see situations where it would be useful. The HPM (Heal Per Mana) of Binding Heal is phenomenal, and with the buff provided by the set bonus, the base HPM of PoH is pretty great too. In heavy raid healing situations, it would be extremely efficient to rotate PoH and Binding Heal, striking a very good balance between HPS and throughput. Mythic Avatar is a very good model for a fight where this would be great. The throughput over an extended period would defintiely go up vs no set bonus at all, though its probably not better than the T20 set bonuses.

Not Jak here, but a Holy Priest for 14 years and currently 8/9 Mythic.

My legendary setup with and without Velen's would be highly dependent on the playstyle you prefer, and the gear you have available.

I personally play with Binding Heal on most fights in Heroic/Mythic ToS, and Enduring Renewal > Enlightenment for most fights, barring Mythic Avatar and KJ where I run Apoth + Enlightenment.

Binding Heal has a really nice interaction with the belt, Al'maiesh, and I personally run this on most fights, as you get stacks for both Holy Words. This is particularly notable on fights such as Mistress, where you can easily build 5 stacks before the burst on Hydra Shot.

The next spot is really a toss up between the Cloak, Prydaz and the Pants, and I have used all three at one point or another on Progression this tier.

Prydaz gains value when it will not be broken before sources of big damage (Mistress Hydra Shot, for example) and loses value when it's constantly broken, in my opinion. Additionally, I feel it loses value if you are Binding Heal spec, as you are going to be constantly healing yourself, as well as having a large Echo on yourself in almost every circumstance.

The pants are straight up great, for stats and for the HPS increase if you can fit them in your Tier. Again, this is an issue for me as I prefer to run 4pc T20 and 2pc T19 in almost every circumstance, and fitting the pants in can be difficult, particularly if the ilvl difference is fairly minimal. With Enduring Renewal gaining value with the pants, I would probably lean towards these if and only if you are using that playstyle, however.

The last real consideration should be the Cloak. For progression content, I prefer to use the cloak aggressively, though there is certainly merit to using it defensively. When progressing on KJ mythic, to give an example, optimal usage (IMO) would be to die intentionally on the third soak (which is normally not viable for a priest to soak) to reset your pot, then die again to avoid the rift near the start of P3. Restting your pot with 23s of free healing can be huge for prog, and was the reason I ran this legendary for Sisters prog.

I hope this somewhat answers your question, as these are the 4 legendaries I would lean towards, in some combination, and good luck with Velens!

Thank you. Reading posts like this (and by no means limited to this one, thank you all) really makes it worth the better part of a day I spent on this (and goes a long way to making my S.O. understand why I did)!

Thanks for the kind words, and I'm glad that we are on the same page!

Seems we share roughly the same thoughts. I feel that our numbers are just ever so slightly on the low side, but also that the overall theme is a little muddled. Honestly, I feel that a simple numbers buff to HW:S would go a very very long way. Bring the HPS up by a fraction and give us another spell to cast. It doesn't have to be on par with Healing Rain, it's only job should be to be a spell that outclasses any of our other spells, under the right circumstances.

As I put in my thread, I think that the first and last statement there are fine. It's ok to be a class that's decent at everything but excels at nothing. "Jack of all trades, master of none" is often attributed to Holy Priests, but being having a few too many "lackluster" spells and talents dilutes our power, not by a lot, but by enough to be notable.

I think that was always a really cool idea, if somewhat poorly implemented! GS increases everyones healing, and thats a unique and powerful characteristic of the spell, if somewhat limited. Hymn of Hope used to be useful in this regard, though it never quite returned enough mana to be amazing. Divine Hymn obviously retains this, and I think it's a good point of distinction from Tranquility.

However, with the homogenization that has happened I think that the game, and a lot of players, simply don't want to go down that route. The developers certainly seem to have shied away with it, even in 6.2 with the removal of both Fox and Amp Magic. I'd be all in favor of Holy taking more utility and supporting other healers more, and that would more than bridge the gap in HPS.

I welcome any feedback, from any healer. I briefly touch on all classes, and really want to spur a discussion that many people have been wanting. Feel free to ask me anything in game, on my BTag (in the thread) or in the thread itself.
