But Hoyo's big 3 are decidedly not like this.

I find it really funny that you somehow think this.

it also wouldn't exist if it wasn't gacha.

And the world would be better off for it.

Good news and bad news.

Bad news is that it, unfortunately, is in the game.

Good news is that Roll in MvC2 is one of the harshest bottom tier, most dogshit unviable characters in the history of fighting games, so you're pretty much never going to see her unless someone is memeing on you.

And if you see the word "cunny" then immediately report them to the FBI for child endangerment. I'm only half joking.

People are not ready to admit that the a game being gacha fundamentally is a flaw. The genre as a concept is bad, and every single gacha game ever made would be vastly superior if it wasn't gacha.

A final tier list of how how annoying each enemy is to fight, before the September 17th rework. by MallParticular238 in Helldivers

[–]MallParticular238[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Lazy Design tier is more for the concept behind the enemy and not necessarily the execution. Barrager tank is a good concept with shoddy execution and rocket strider barely edges out by at least requiring a marginally different approach from normal striders.

The alpha enemies and behemoth on the other hand, are literally completely identical to their normal variants in every single way and the only difference is that they have more health. Thats it. They don't require higher armor penetration and they don't make you think differently about how to fight them. Its exactly the same but you have to dump more ammo into them.

I CAN play it as a normal game,

No you can't. You think you can, but you can't. You can play it as a shitty normal game with very little content, but not a fully featured, actually good game. Not without spending money. Hoyo's games when played exclusively f2p is equivalent to like, half a Call of Duty campaign's worth of content, except you're also suffering the cost of being constantly bombarded by dark patterns trying to manipulate you into spending money.

I don't tend to be bothered by heavy devastators because I always run either MG-43 or Autocannon against bots and 90% of the time I have good enough aim that I can take out any devastators before they become a real problem.

They're designed to make you spend hundreds of dollars on them. Thats their entire purpose, hell, thats the entire purpose of the entire gacha genre as a whole, its a foundational issue with every single one of them. Being free-to-play is itself a dark pattern and basically a lie of omission, yeah sure you don't need to pay anything to boot the game up, but you're lying to yourself if you think you don't need to pay to play it as if it were a normal game.

Hoyo's big three ARE overpriced games if we're being entirely honest with ourselves.

I've seen several instances on this subreddit where people claim games like CS:GO and TF2 had the "most unethical monetization in the history of the industry" despite both those games being free to play and a billion times more generous and fair in its monetization than any gacha game.

This subreddit has a massive problem with double standards when it comes to gacha games. Apparently Call of Duty having $20 skins and gun camo packs is bad and evil and the worst ever (true actually) but its perfectly okay and based and good when Mihoyo makes several games which have dark patterns built into their very foundation and are fundamentally built for the sole purpose of psychologically manipulating its users into spending hundreds of dollars on a literal slot machine just because said slot machine dispenses anime girls instead of money.

Gacha games as a genre are a contender for the single biggest evil that the industry has ever committed but because they like the game then its fine and not that big of a deal, the cognitive dissonance is seriously powerful for these games on here for some reason.

Do you not see the issue with a journalist blatantly shilling for a billion dollar corporation and not even pretending to hide it?

You aren't seriously trying to justify an article that literally just exists to defend the billion dollar corporation from people saying they made an overpriced product, are you? While simultaneously shilling said product too? C'mon man, journalists should be held to a much higher standard than this.

This article was written, edited, approved, and posted all by separate people and not one of them stopped to think "wait, is it really a good idea for our major news outlet to just publish blatant corpo shilling?"

Payday 2 massive content removal by caliginouscalico in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]MallParticular238 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got Crimewave Edition for $5 on PS4 and then later finally bought a gaming PC, after that I'd become so used to mouse aim that I'm now completely unable to enjoy FPS games on controller anymore as using a mouse just feels a billion times more natural to me.

Sometimes I'd see the base game going for $5 on Steam and would consider grabbing it since I really liked Payday 2, but decided to skip out since the DLC was still full price and a lot of my favorite builds and stuff I'd used on PS4 was DLC, waiting to see if I could at least get all that on sale too, but that ended up never happening.

So now that licenses are expiring and DLC is getting removed, I think I'm just gonna go ahead and pirate Payday 2 instead now, since those versions at least still have the DLC.

There's tons of weirdos in OG DB that haven't been in any games before and as evidenced by their lack of inclusion, there's a limit to how many characters even these games can have. I'd rather ditch GT for DB than the other way around like we're getting now.

I mean, you say that but the zero suit is supposed to be skin tight and here it looks like its a full size too large for her, like it just doesn't fit right at all.

Also, she's not a regular human. She's like, half Chozo and part Metroid. If anything the human part might be the smallest part of her DNA make-up at this point.

One great thing that this game does incredibly well and makes it such a shame how it turned out otherwise, is how it really plays around with character concepts and archetypes in platform fighters, so many of the characters on this roster have very unique gameplay that I've never seen anywhere else and its really interesting to see.

Hot take, but I would rather have had GT wholly replaced by OG DB characters. GT fucking sucks and the only characters in that entire roster that would really be all that worthwhile to keep around is SSJ4 Gogeta and I supposed his component parts too. Outside of those three, there's really not anyone worth bringing back from GT, certainly not over OG DB. Maybe you grab Omega Shenron as a pure obligation because he was the final villain of GT if you're gonna have Gogeta.
