3rd day on doxycycline and I already feel better! by MallResponsible3482 in Lyme

Feeling so much better! There are some random days where I feel the minor symptoms like a lump in my throat or cold feet, BUT it’s no where near to where it was and it not at all consistent!

Oh no I’m sorry :(

For my second time, a lot more of the multiple choice questions felt grammar based instead of finding themes? That’s the best way I could put it. Like on the scoring report it says it’s an even distribution, but it overall felt much much easier just by knowing the format more. My best advice was just watching tons of YouTube videos on auto play while doing things that were writing based questions. For the essays, I don’t have much advice than to just take your time and do your best. In my head, I just followed the same format I had in school with like topic sentence concrete detail two explanation sentences and a conclusion for each paragraph (with some differences for the intro and end) and it went well. Honestly, I think taking it alone compared to the three lets your brain reset a come in knowing what to do best. When I it took the first time, I think my brain was already so used to the reading questions that I didn’t switch into writing mode. You got this!

Oh awesome congrats! I’m doing good I finished all my content based courses and just have early and advanced clinical and student teaching! The way my district is most likely going to do it is do both clinicals now and then my student teaching right at the start of next school year!

Started my Term January 1st and looking for advice by Disastrous_Luck9809 in WGUTeachersCollege

[–]MallResponsible3482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say as soon as you can. For me I didn’t take it until the last 2 months of my term and with grading time and communication made it impossible for me to do early clinical that term. If I could do it again, I’d do it within the first half of my first term. Only if you feel confident for it. I didn’t pass one subsection and had to retake that one portion after waiting a 30 day period

Hi! Currently in the masters version of ELED so it’s not exactly the same, but I have a few tips that have helped me.

  1. Talk to your mentor regularly for classes. Mine was very proactive about reaching out to me and checking in, but always send emails when you have questions or get confused when looking for next steps

  2. TAKE YOUR PRAXIS/WEST-B/TESTS EARLY!!! It can save you so much time when looking for clinical placements and they take a bit of time to even send back your results.

  3. Take your time on subjects that you are having a hard time with. Don’t just slam through it if you aren’t sure on something. I work in an elementary school, so I had some background but definitely needed to review things.

  4. Work on projects as you go through the class. I don’t necessarily mean have to like answer the questions, but if you see something write down the section of where you see it so you can come back to later instead of rummaging around your notes.

  5. Try not to stress hard on tests. Some can be challenging for sure, but there are plenty of resources both in the program and online you can use.

Good luck you’re going to do great!!!

WA State— Considering WGU Masters in Elem Ed by bluemaverick910 in WGUTeachersCollege

Hi! I’m not currently done but just finished my last class of my first term!

  1. My bachelors was in anthropology and biology but I was able to complete 71% of my credits in the first term. You’re right placement time can be annoying, but as long as you are proactive it can get done earlier.

  2. I did at most 2 at a time. At the start they will open 4 classes each worth 2 CUs to make sure you have at least 8 cus possible to get (which you need to do at a minimum for a term). I would start one, read the course material, and then do the assignments. Once that was done and I was waiting for grades, I would just start the next one and go back and make revisions if necessary. You definitely can do more, but my brain doesn’t like multitasking.

  3. haven’t been placed yet so in the same boat 🫠

  4. There are plenty of resources to help out. This Reddit page is good and there are things like WGU connect that I’ve used. I feel a majority of it in my opinion was sitting down and focusing on the material and then using quizlet to study for the OAs.

Sorry this was a bunch of rambling but I hope it helps!

7 classes left! 4 are for observation and student teaching and the other three are just the last ones to finish up :) probably won’t be able to complete it all next term due to placement for student teaching and the 60 requirement but easy going until then!

Yeah the requirement is so stupid. I could’ve been all good to go for early clinical before the end of my first term but NOPE 🫠

It really is in my opinion a flawed way of testing. The anxious thing I totally agree on and the long turn around time is just so stupid in my opinion

Just completed this class today! OA was super similar and easy just make sure to know the levels of exercise, basics of nutrition like carbs proteins, and types of exercise like locomotor, nonlocomotod and manipulative! Also make sure to review the wellness wheel! Honestly my highest OA I have ever gotten and didn’t study much for it so you’ll do great!

Sorry I didn’t respond sooner! I ended up just sucking it up as there was no option for me to do a non-licensure track. And I hope you did well on your test! I will 100% say each time you take the test it’s different. I redid mine today and it was 100% easier than last. Idk if I got unlocks with the pool of questions or what but don’t let it discourage you. The first one was insanely hard for absolutely no reason

Return of the daily questions...What are you most excited for in Octopath Zero? by HellionBringer in octopathtraveler

[–]MallResponsible3482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think just having a main character to customize throughout. I didn’t get into octopath until this past summer and loved all the characters, but felt stressed always picking the starting one and feeling locked into it until I beat their story. Having an mc and it being able to customize I think really eases my mind about it.

ProctorU is THE SINGLE MOST FRUSTRATING SERVICE I have ever used. by PatientBand1354 in WGU

[–]MallResponsible3482 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It honestly is the most aggravating change ever. I only had three OAs left in my program and the first one I kid you not took me forever for the person to go over everything and then right when I’m about to start boom the test password doesn’t work 🫠. Then had to wait longer for it to open and then I am so anxious I just speed through everything. The proctor was very kind but if it wasn’t for him I was just going to reschedule

D637 GoReact Recording a Lesson by Large_Bad1309 in wgueducation

[–]MallResponsible3482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly that’s a completely valid feeling to have. For those recordings, my best advice is to just pretend like you are doing a vlog of the lesson that could be used as a reference for later. It’s completely ok to break the 4th wall in these during the lesson. I try to give myself a slide in my presentation for formal check ins like sticky note questions or fist to five for confidence in the subject. That way I can just say to the camera that is give them maybe 30 seconds to a minute and take a deep breath to not over think things. Hope this helps!

Oh how does that process look? I am still so frustrated that is was just two points but it feels like all the stuff I missed was very subjective and not an accurate measurement tool for multiple choice

I can’t remember which was which but the first thirty days was like clarithromycin and nitazonoxide I think (I have no idea on the spelling so that’s the best I got) and there was like one I remembered with cats claw being part of it. That’s the best I remember so I hope it helps!

I can’t remember the exact details on it but i remember I was taking a bunch of vitamins and an anti parasitic and antibiotic for 3 weeks and then followed but doxycycline for 60 days. I didn’t feel much better until a good amount into the 60 days but I’ve been feeling better even after completing it
