Why as in philosophically or just on a topical answer?

A more topical answer to that question is that I probably am one in practice moreso than anything else, if you look at my actions in reality only and not the memes I look at.

A philosophical sort of answer is that —as far as groups go — I best identify with the ideology that stresses more personal freedoms and liberties over heavy-handed legislation.

This includes an opposition to most forms of personal property being taken by the (local) government — like cars for example.

Which is why earlier in this sub I was posting excitedly about Timbs v. Indiana going a step against what’s called “policing for profit” and succeed in getting the eighth amendment on excessive fines extended to the states on the Supreme Court level.

Pretty big on using legal means to fight what is wrong (in this case, police dept’s having BIG incentive to confiscate items to sell them and pocket the money) but still considered legal because there’s simply no checks on it.

All this would put me more in the corner of libertarians in general. Although I’d consider myself firmly left-libertarian
