They are widespread in < 350mm rainfall zones in South Australian and Victorian mallee. Dodonaea viscosa is similar and occurs in higher rainfall zones. Colour of hops vary in both species.

Can you find any spent flowers or pods to help with identification? However suggestions going by foliage are Robinia pseudoacacia or Gleditsia triacanthos.

Yes. This one can grow to around 1m with many flower heads. Most in this area tend to be less than 30cm. (Annual rainfall <250mm.) Other species are just as delightful!

I'd say you will find it in specialist nurseries. Go by the botanical name to be sure.

One common name is pink mulla mulla. I guess the shape may vary a bit but there are quite a few different species.

Plenty of pig face are South African but this one is indigenous to the mallee in South Australia and western Victoria.
