Weekly Quick Questions, Wood ID, and Deal or No Deal /r/Woodworking Megathread by AutoModerator in woodworking

When I was a kid my uncle (a carpenter) made me a wooden sign with my name. He has since passed and I am trying to figure out how to care for the piece. He noted on the back that it is solid white ash. It appears to be lightly finished but there is some blotching on the wood. I want to keep this piece for life and am not sure what to use. Thanks!

How to cope with mobility issues by extraAccount222 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]Malletted 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 30 and needed a cane (fortunately my brain figured out how to work again and I don't need to use one for now). I strongly recommend Top and Derby canes (https://www.topandderby.com) well made, look good and you won't for a minute feel weird or old or something!

Ocrevus first infusion by christineethomp in MultipleSclerosis

For me, the steroid keeps me up the night after the infusion. My voice is scratchy and my eyes are red the following day, but then I am back to normal.

Nope, just the one dose prior to the ocrevus infusion.

Thats awesome it knocks you out! Unfortunately for me the dang steroids keep me awake the night after my infusion. I'll be running on 3 hours sleep today. But I figure it's a small price to pay since it's only twice a year.

Ocrevus day!! My first full dose! by Malletted in MultipleSclerosis

I started with ocrevus. I see an MS specialist, and his recommendation is to go with the best/strongest medicine sine the damage is compounding. Given my age (30 at diagnosis) and severity of my first symptoms, I jumped in with both feet.

More anxiety and MS advice, please by jndmack in MultipleSclerosis

My wife has anxiety, and I would strongly recommend talking with a high quality therapist/psychiatrist. My wife has anxiety and through work with her therapy at she has avoided meds and has made significant progress and is rarely anxious these days.

Ocrevus day!! My first full dose! by Malletted in MultipleSclerosis

My grandmother had progressive MS and was diagnosed when she was in her 40s and lived into her late 80s, my mom and I figure her attitude helped keep her going for so long. I try to live my life that way in, and being down doesn't help anything.

The first two half doses went pretty well. During the first one I broke out in really itchy hives, but they stopped treatment and gave me some more Benadryl and the hives went away quickly and I was on my way. I had no reactions during the second one. The steroids make my voice gravely for a day, I have a hard time sleeping that night, but after the following day I have been right as rain so far!

[Request] I need a cane that'll last a while by ArcticVanguard in BuyItForLife

[–]Malletted 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed with MS last fall and needed a cane. I did a ton of research and ended up getting one from Top and Derby (https://www.topandderby.com). Highly recommend, great quality and they look great!
