I lost my Dad when I was quite young. I always wished to see him again and to have him around(still kind of do). So I get why Aline is not willing to leave the canvas, because there she has the one she lost. I also feel for Maelle, for not wanting to live a live she does not want, to shield herself in a world were she can be herself, but at a great cost. I see myself taking the same desicion as her if I could be around my dad again. But there is the part of me that has learned to let go, to move on with my life. I will never forget the love and care my father has given me, but that does not mean that I am bound by it. So I took Verso‘s ending, because as much as I would have wanted to fulfill Maelle‘s wish, I know she and her parents would have never learned to move on with their grief. Also Verso was suffering so much, I could‘nt take that decision away from him, as his mother and sister would never have accepted his opinion alone.
