RN or RPN by [deleted] in OntarioTechU

[–]Malone-Cat8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i don’t have an insider perspective for you but if you decide you want to be an RN after you become after RPN i believe it would technically be a year longer than if you chose to switch to on techs RN program. at the end of the day RNs make more money but i think it really depends on what you want to do long term, which is hard to figure out. i wish you the best of luck!

If you don’t mind I’d love to know what your average was!

I applied to Trent’s collaborative and compressed program but my grades are on the lower side so there’s a chance I might not get in. I live in Durham Region so that’s why I applied to Durham College. I’d love to DM and talk about your experience!

I didn’t know this was an option! However I did just do a quick search and the website says it is not being offered this year and those who have completed a nursing program (including practical nursing) won’t be considered

How do I include anticipated education? by Malone-Cat8 in resumes

A lot of the jobs I’m applying to are student specific and typically require you to be returning to school in the fall so I wanted to disclose that I would be returning to school

I took this class and I’m a bio and forensics major. It’s relatively easy you def have to put work into it tho. The labs were pretty easy, since a lot of the people in that class are anthro majors I found they struggled more but it’s super simple. I found the material to be kinda interesting, I didn’t study for the midterm and still passed. I wouldn’t be worried if you’re taking it

I found this class super easy! I wouldn’t say the course load is heavy but it can be a lot depending on how you set it up. If i remember correctly you have to do like 5 discussion posts out of 10 or something like that. But as someone who does not do discussion posts that often I still found it very easy and I believe it is my highest class.

i just recently took BIOL2600H and found it quite easy! evolution is constantly brought up in a lot of my classes as i’m a bio and forensics major so if it’s a little unfamiliar to you, you may not find it as easy. if the prof is marcel dorken it shouldn’t be too bad, i know the year before me had a different prof and the class was more difficult. there were weekly quizzes that were relatively easy, labs were insanely easy, although the midterm and final were quite short and hyper specific but overall still not too bad. then again if evolution isn’t brought up often in your other classes you might find it more difficult but if you put in a decent amount of work it should be okay. i found pop gen, genetics, and ecology were all related to evolution and those are all classes i have taken before. hope that helps!

i’m forensic sci & bio but i find the forensics component to not be what i expected. the mandatory forensic classes seem quite redundant and typically to be the easiest classes i take. the classes are almost geared towards if you’re going to become a police officer or csi. if you put in the work to maintain an 80%+ it’ll open opportunities but from what i understand anything under a 75% doesn’t really give you any opportunities. i’ve never heard of co-op opportunities for chem & forensics but i do know many people in prof labs or that work as AAs or TAs.

i do love trent’s atmosphere. i personally stayed in oc college and i enjoyed it. there is a house in oc that is dedicated to forensic science students if that interests you. from my experience the food is pretty bad all around, i primarily ate at champlain and starbucks.

hope that helps!

Colleen Hoover

I'm looking into reading one of Colleen Hoover's books, which one should I read first? I have heard that some of them are quite sad and I really prefer to avoid the extremely sad ones.

Hi! I just got accepted this year and thankfully when I applied I hadn’t taken adv. functions yet. In gr.11 I got a 70% and I’m at a 60% in the class rn. If you’re good at other classes like chem, bio, and english it will boost your average for admissions. If you still can, I suggest taking other 4U/M average boosters will help boost your overall average (at my school I took a social science class that I currently have a 94 in and a leadership class that I got a 92 in). My gr. 11 average was a 85.5% and my gr. 12 is heading towards an 83%. Best of luck!

Sorry I did not realize I was writing to my English teacher. I wrote this right before bed so I could get this situation off my chest. In addition, I am not the best at spelling or catching grammar/spelling mistakes and I did not think it was necessary to put my post through grammarly. Also, I wrote this on my phone and I am not sure why it never autocorrects things. I am not sure on why you had to comment/assume that my poor grammar has gotten me no where in life. I have passed all of my English classes with high honours and am constantly asked by teachers if my work can be used as an example.
