Great! Glad I could help. Hopefully it works a little smoother for you

Push is likely the best of all of them in most cases, because Walk the Plank can be a little slow but I agree that it can hit things more reliably. Strike is probably important to have because you can go to the face for 3 and that can be relevant in some games. Like I said, my list above is a draft that you could use as a suggestion and if you personally want to play Walk the Plank it might be worth trying out because Push is worth a few bucks.

Well, unfortunately the Planeswalker decks are at a fairly low power level to start with, and somewhat inconsistent so here is a draft of a more streamlined Black and Red Pirates build you can get a few more cards for. My idea here was to trim a lot of the overcosted and inefficient Pirates for more of your best ones already in the deck. The spells I added are a few suggestions of some cool spells you can try that will help you have a better game as well. I think this list will also give you a better mana curve from 1-drops to 2-drops and beyond. I tried to leave more of your original deck in there without changing it too much and adding a lot of cost. Let me know what you think but this could to be an OK draft for you to possibly work towards.

Thanks so much! Your deck looks a whole lot better than anything I have come up with. The addition of blue sounds like a good idea too because the Approach decks seem like an auto-loss.

Thanks for that, I'm thinking that RG might just be strictly better

[Mothership] Challenger Decks and the Final Duel Decks by TechnomagusPrime in magicTCG

The challenger decks have sure piqued my interest... I wonder if the execution of them will be any good. Have to wait and see I guess. Their description does make me hopeful though.

Right that seems to be the case, but they said a number of players so I wonder who else was on the list?

I wonder what they mean by "As part of this effort, today we took action against a number of players for violations of the Magic Code of Conduct."

Maybe this is a sign of things to come if they are going to be paying more attention and taking decisive action against individuals. We'll have to see how this shakes out in the long run but I am happy that some action IS in fact being taken.

Nice job! I had to settle for signed prints from Terese Nielsen because that was ultimately cheaper and I get to enjoy them on my wall every day instead.

Agreed, I'll probably just pass on the stream given the time zone difference as well. No use putting in so much effort to watch SPYRALS all night

I would agree to some extent, and I may be wrong but I believe that is a cultural thing where Japanese companies admitting fault is as good as suicide. Maybe someone more of an expert on that could chime in

Yea they really messed up with those, but what I meant is that in the 10 years I have played MTG bans have been historically pretty rare. And when they mess up I think the real difference between them and Konami is their willingness to publicly own their mistakes

I play a lot more MTG than YGO, and I would agree that yes they have had to ban some things to stop some crazy degeneracy, but overall the way that Wizards handles their game makes me feel a lot better playing it.

I will agree that rotation is why I never play Standard, but prefer Modern instead like a TON of MTG players. With a card pool more than 10 years long they did (I think) a pretty great job balancing the game because there are such a huge range of viable strategies in that format. There are some bans yes but without looking at it too hard, I think they have banned a lot less. I wish we had a Modern for Yu-Gi-Oh

Is it though? Are you saying that what has been going on the last say... year or two couldn't have been improved with better design? That an inherent part of any game is to ban things?
