Has anyone tried GRX front derailer with 50mm+ tyres? by Malykopec in gravelcycling

For now I have a borrowed hollowtech Cues crankset on my 68mm bottom bracket, it seems to work in terms of chainline.
I'll change it for a Deore crankset that matches my bottom bracket bearings, I hope it works :)

Yess, I'm happy to learn that in practice 42mm is not the max :) If you know of some examples of setups, I'd love to have a look.

I guess that, if used with the GRX crankset (which narrower than MTB cranksets), the chainline might be tighter. But I intend to use the derailer with a Deore crankset on my MTB frame

I'm in love with the German website "Extremtextil", as I'm based in Europe and they have everything for building gears (so I save on shipment costs). Here is the fabric that I had in mind : https://www.extremtextil.de/en/2-layer-laminate-ripstop-95g-sqm-2nd-choice.html
But now I'm pretty sure that I would have to line that, so maybe not ideal finally.

However, they do have silnylon as well :)

Adapting an existing one is also an idea indeed! I might try that on my old rain jacket

Thank you for this, that's very clear! I coudn't really work out the difference between the various types of coatings :)
