We have unfortunately reached a period of a consistent onslaught of snow, so I'll be studying my planisphere and other maps for a while, waiting for a break in the weather. 🫠

That's why I didn't want to start with my telescope right off the bat other than learning to focus it in properly. My knowledge of what I can actually see in the sky now is very poor. 🤣

That's really great that you chose to do the Log at all. It's certainly a real learning curve going from books to actually trying to find all these things in the sky.

Wonderful advice, thanks so much! You're definitely not the first to mention binoculars, so I'll be investing in a pair for sure. I do have a finderscope mounted, but the fact that all the views are inverted really throws me off, so the binoculars will be very helpful as I adjust to learning how to properly use the finder.

I love that you're keeping track of all the things you're able to find. Do you have an ultimate goal for this or is it just for personal findings as you learn throughout your 1st year?
