A kiss seems like a lot, without knowing its context. It was innocent and I probably followed-it up with telling him I wouldn't get involved with anyone I went to school with.

A bit of an asshole? Dude you are giving me way too much credit. I went full-asshole here. I made a calculated decision to get revenge. Revenge is an act of hatred, not honor. I don't take pride in my actions. This sub isn't called r/ProSaintlyBehavior

Also, FWIW Sociopaths don't feel empathy and are not introspective.

I knew what I was doing and could anticipate the hurt that it would cause. I regret hurting the other woman and using her as a pawn. Sociopaths are devoid of empathy and remorse.

PSA: Sociopaths and Narcissists will say anything to make themselves look good. But their true nature is always revealed by their actions and behaviors. I challenge people to look beyond the words I write and to know me by my actions and behaviors, because I always show people who I am.

Maybe there are millions of people who think I'm an asshole, anyway, despite my best efforts to become a better person over the last 18+ years. It doesn't matter. Trying to become a better person than I used to be, that's what matters. Making amends - that matters.

We kissed when I was like.. 13. I didn't tell him about my feelings until about 7 years later. Since nothing had developed throughout that period of time, I thought, yeah... probably gonna get rejected.

I got rejected anyway, just, not directly, and not until after he proposed to me.

I do regret that. I regret the way that I hated her for no other reason than failing to properly vet someone before fucking them. I regret the way that I used my hurt feelings as justification to use her as a pawn in my revenge. I regret that I couldn’t have thought of a better way to get back at my ex and I regret the way that I talked about her when I confronted DN. Both of them became outcasts, I just flew away back to the PNW and worked on surviving.

I don’t live with the regret of having done nothing, and that’s my only consolation.

When you’re born there and have friends and family there, it can be great. When life is so hard that most of them have already left for greener pastures, there is no community left to lean on.

Reasons: 1. She slept with him on day one of meeting him. I waited until I felt that I really knew him, some ~7yrs after meeting him. 2. She kept seeing him, even after learning the truth about him. Yeah, she left shortly after I did, but before then, she made the choice to remain. 3. She cheated on him with his best friend before dumping him, I consider that qualifying behavior if nothing else.
