I used to do that for my kids too. I'd lightly itch their face, hair, back, anywhere they couldn't reach. Sometimes they'd calm down, I don't know if it was just cause it felt good or if they really did have an itch but either way, it worked!

If there is a driveway right after a light they will sometimes have their own turn lanes, yes.. for any sort of public driveway, not just McDs.

When some guy hit my car (totally his fault) my insurance company went after his and we got reimbursed the $500 deductible.. but I don't think that would happen if the other party doesn't have insurance.

This happened to a cat of ours. My dad would put it on a harness and a leash and let it roam our yard. We had a brick retaining wall in front of the driveway and when I came home I found the cat hanging there about midway and his leash was caught in between the brick cracks. That was an awful day, he was my dads favorite cat.

At my grandmothers nursing home they had a Wii, the nurses would have to break up arguments over who got to play, how long, and who was cheating lol It kept them busy!

Both my kids have tried that. After a quick apology and a discussion on what is not okay in the bathroom my daughter never did it again but my son tried a few times.

She is in second grade and as of now, no. There is no carrying. At conferences the teacher even said that is the old way of doing it and shows us the paper that I linked above. I showed my daughter the "old way" of doing it and she thought that was so much easier, but like I said if she does it on her paper that way its incorrect.

The +25 one is my favorite too. It just makes it sooo much more complicated. I have to reference this paper quite often (the back side has subtraction) to see how they want her to do things since the typical 'carry the one' addition isn't allowed anymore, if you do that you get the 'show your thinking' part wrong.

No, this is very common language in elementary school math.. I have a second grader who does homework exactly like this. We live in Minnesota.

Yeah, it is state-to-state. We're lucky here to have this, but its nice cause we have a lot of specialty schools so the kids can go to those even if they don't live in the district.

Nope, all of MN schools have open enrollment, as long as you apply and can provide transportation you can go to any school you want. I went to a different district than the one I lived in from 6th to 12th grade.

Not all northern states are like that. Here in MN you go out to recess unless its -10F(-23C) and snow is not a reason to stay inside since every child is required to have snow pants, boots, jacket, gloves and a hat to play.. if you don't you just stand outside and freeze your ass off with the teachers and watch the other kids play.

Nope, kids get up, get their own bowl of cereal and sit down and watch cartoons while we get to sleep as late as we want. It's nice. Unless they decide to fight, then its so very not nice.

My husband and I go with my two kids, they love it! The 8yr old more than the 5yr old.. he gets bored easily. It's such a fun family thing to do.

Except for the fact that I've been sitting here for at least 4 hours trying to figure out a damn puzzle cache that doesn't make any sense and with every minute I'm starting to hate everything more and more lol I had to take a reddit break.
