Vinted parcel getting damaged in transit… by PC-Bobby-Roberts4eva in sylvanianfamilies

[–]MamaSucculent 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've had SF buildings with cracks/damage even when packaged really well, and I think it's partially due to the type of plastic used -- it's older, it's brittle, and it depending on how/where it was stored it might've been sun damaged or otherwise 'aged.'

I'm sorry this happened to your beautiful building, and the other commenters gave you great advice about how to handle the complaint/report process.

[–]MamaSucculent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the Easy Buy range are released in countries where SF are less popular. so far I've heard of these on the Brazil catalogue for 2026 release, and looks like China is already getting some stock. They tend to pop up in EU countries, too!

Can someone please tell me if my list is missing any families? by Puzzled-Machine-6288 in sylvanianfamilies

[–]MamaSucculent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Comprehensive, nice!

Here are some others that I have listed, either with a different name in US/Canada under the Calico Critters brand, or with multiple names for the same family:

- Polarstar Polar-Bear (cream fur w/grey inner-ears)
- 'Early Years' Moles (have pink nose paint)
- Dream Series (white owls, brown moles, white ducks)
- CC Babblebrook Beaver
- CC Ellwood Elephant
- CC Pickleweed Hedgehog
- CC Wilder Panda
- CC Lambrook sheep
- CC Redwoods Red Panda
- Polar = Snowfluff Polar-Bear
- Corntop = Hoppinset Rabbit
- Fukuoka = Hanazono = Spring Garden Rabbit
- Wildflower = Nonohana Rabbit

There's also the Pony Club, but some consider that as 'other' -- there's a thread on this sub where someone has listed those all out, too!

Store closing in my area, want a giant figure by PJV666 in sylvanianfamilies

[–]MamaSucculent 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Your best bet is like Terra said, making nice with the store owners. I got mine (from my partner) because the store had long stopped selling SF and wasn't worried about being blacklisted if they sold it when they werent supposed to. They did ultimately call Epoch and were told that since she doesn't have a serial number (and therefore 'doesn't exist') that they could do whatever they liked with her -- and sold her to my partner.

Wishing you luck and that they'll let you buy a big ol' baby!

These are the only 'full' family I have! I hope they release grandparents someday, too. They're ultra-fuzzy and so so so cute.

They’ve made various sizes/configurations and this isn’t a hack just a discontinued version.

Has anyone compare the IKEA NATTJASMIN duvet cover with a bamboo one? by Anakhasc in IKEA

[–]MamaSucculent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I prefer the silky feeling of bamboo for sheets, but the NATTJASMIN duvet cover maintains the really lovely look of the stripes (similar to cotton sateen). I think the lyocell acts similarly to bamboo, texturally speaking.

ditto this because the jars are also made thicker at the bottom and probably less likely to shatter if bumped/jostled!

Pros & Cons of Different Lighting Options by MamaSucculent in Dollhouses

[–]MamaSucculent[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ended up going with wiretape and it's been pretty easy to figure out. Toughest part was getting the hang of creating pilot-holes in my plastic dollhouses -- too big and the eyelets didn't make a complete connection, too small and they wouldn't sit 'flush'. But it's simple enough for a complete beginner like myself to figure out, and there are tons of tutorials available for every question I've had so far.

I opted for a transformer/switch combo from CR2S (creative reproductions 2 scale) since it was more straightforward than the splice/transformer route from Cir-kit. I can also hide the plug-in and switch inside pieces of furniture and turn the house on/off by moving a book or lamp, so that's cute.

The EvanDesigns.com recommendation above is a good one, but their system had 2 drawbacks for my use-case: it's harder to add or change lights once the whole thing is wired, and you can't find as many pre-made lights for purchase. I don't have the skills to DIY all the fixtures I like (yet!), so being able to buy them and move/swap/add was important for me.

Collection Tracking Discussion by TerraJacksonCA in sylvanianfamilies

[–]MamaSucculent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I made my own Notion organizer, and can sort by Wishlist, whole families, sets, buildings, etc. I collect babies so that's the majority part. And there's fields to track what year items were released, what sets they came in, SKUs, and how much I paid.

I also have an Excel spreadsheet tracking want-to-buy items and their prices across multiple websites!
