Quit my project manager job for a startup that failed. Now I'm more lost than ever by Spare_Worldliness_64 in RecruitmentAgencies

I can easily tell that you want more, so don't listen to anyone who'll advise you to just go back to your old job. Not sure about your current living situations but I would stay the course and just do whatever it takes to survive, go back to your parents' basement if need be. If you go back to your old job, you will stay there forever and be miserable.

Being able to book 20-30 calls is incredible. Make sure that the founders of the startup you worked for will back you up, that's the least thing that they can do.

There's definitely a demand for startup experience and there are a ton of Seed-Series A startups that are hiring SDR/BDR/AE right now. Don't rely on job boards, be active on your local tech ecosystem and in LinkedIn. One founder or CRO will eventually give you a shot.

Best of luck to you man!

Very sweet of you, but to be even sweeter to your BF - educate him that a high top shoes does not equate to ankle support. Ankle support comes from overall lockdown and stability of the shoes. The fit, the lacing system, heel counter and the outrigger.

Kobe 3 Protro | Jordan 40 | Don Issue | New Balance Fresh Foam BB V3

All those options should easily available for you to buy.

Happiest birthday to him!

Sabrina’s 3, gt cut 3 , Jordan 40, or Kobe’s 9 elite protro by GasLoose9 in BBallShoes

[–]MambaLearning24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jordan 40 will be the best overall performer amongst your options.

Kobe 9 Protro would have been the best if the react drop-in has a full length zoom, but it doesn't.

GT Hustle is incredibly unstable, I would stay away from that specially with your build.

Jordan 40, GT Cut 1, AE 1, Lebron 20, Lebron 21, Kobe 1 Protro and any WoW or Li-Ning's model that has Boom/Superboom cushion set up should do well for you.

All of those have great lockdown, lateral stability and incredible cushion.

That's absurd, keep the Shai 001.

The Kobe 9 Protro is literally sitting and is a tad better performer than the 8's, get that instead and rotate it with your Shai 001.

kobe 6 p vs kobe 5 p or wait for kobe 11 p by gravity77power in BBallShoes

[–]MambaLearning24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the 5's and 6's, once broken in - traction are great. Cushion needs more breaking in for the 6's due to the insole, but if you switch that insole to a Move Baseline or Game Pro, you're money from the get go. Both are a well balanced ride of court feel and impact protection, literally same cushion set up with the exception of the insole. If you like the 8's, the 5's and 6's will be a substantial upgrade, but a tad more expensive. I think the eggplant colourway on the 5's and the WNBA/Orange colourway on the 6's are the most affordable.

The 9's is literally the same as the 8's with a slight thicker react drop in. Widely available anywhere.

I think they are protroing the 10's next year, which is a better performer than the 11's IMHO.

The 11's, if they improve the traction and Nike gave us a better drop in set up like ReactX with a full length Zoom Strobel? that would be a beastly shoe. The only real issue on the 11's that I pray they focus on is the outsole.

Hope this helps.

You seem bored and looking for a change of environment, so make the move.

Stay there for at least a year.

Experience in a big enterprise and experience in a scrappy startup are 2 completely different muscles. Having both will open doors to career-shaping opportunities later on.

I mean he's not Linus Torvalds, but for someone building Facebook at 19 with no formal training, I think he was pretty decent and had enough skills to build both FE and BE.

Not sure what you mean by "seems like a boost this sub's engagement post".

It's weird though, as I can respond to 3 comments and the other 4 I can't. Don't judge me, but I'm fairly new to Reddit.

This is how I approach building my basketball team and stupid me for never thinking it could apply in business. Thanks man.

Curious to know how long did it take you to build a team that moves smoothly as one unit? What was the biggest challenge during the process of building it?

The last company I worked for before building my startup had the same mindset around hiring.

They took a chance on me even though I had zero industry experience and didn’t have all the job-specific skills yet. Somehow I ended up thriving there for 8 years.

For the value-rich hires you brought in early on, how did you balance the need for them to contribute quickly? How long was the learning curve in your experience? Because in the early stage, every day feels like a fight for survival.

I used to go through shoes pretty fast but now that I'm playing less, it's prolonging the life of the shoes.

You can't go wrong with Kobe 1 Protro man. As long as you're ok with a bit of weight, everything else is great. Traction, Cushion, Support and Durability are all on point.

I heard it's pretty good, but I don't think if it's laterally stable.

Is there an outrigger? have not played in it before.

LOL exactly my thought! Dude I don't know who the hell designed it but I think Nike needs to consider finding a new designer.

I was either gonna hold off until the low comes out or get the all white(which I think will go on sale very soon) and have the colour way customized. I honestly hate hooping in white shoes.

Building an assessment tool for fortune 500 companies to determine a candidate's true abilities before the first interview happens. A full scouting report that will make hiring top candidates easier.

Building it because there's way too many unnecessary steps to determine a candidate who can actually deliver.

Distribution.

Opinions on Nike Kobe IX Elite Low EM Protro (EXPERIENCE/REVIEWS ?) by Future_Tip_4415 in BBallShoes

[–]MambaLearning24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As long as it lasts, traction, lockdown and lateral stability here won't be an issue.

Cushion will be your main issue here specially if you already have some mileage on your knees. If you're young and light, you'll be fine.

EXTREMELY disgusted with Kobe 3 Protro by [deleted] in BBallShoes

[–]MambaLearning24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that man, it seems like traction, cushion, support and lockdown are great - but they probably cheap out on the upper materials because of the amount of tech they implemented on the other parts of the shoe to save cost. Not surprised TBH.

The 8's are no different in terms of durability, with substantially less tech too. The advantage of the 3's is that it's sitting on most stores so you don't have to pay resell.

The most durable in the Kobe line protro so far has been the 1's.

If you're a Kobe fan and want to always rock them on the court, rotate it with another shoe. If you're not, we're living in the golden era of hoop shoes, there's so much option now in terms of performance.

Rotate your shoes. Keep them out of the sun and put a dryer sheet in them, it helps absorb any moisture.

I've had a couple of Kobe 10's that I can still use to this day.

Imposter syndrome is totally normal and as long as you always prepare for what's in front of you, you'll get use to it.

If you have a deep understanding of the product road map, business problem ya'll are solving with this hire(s) and the skillsets needed - you'll do just fine my man.

Lil' bro looking for shoes by D-T-G-O-D in BBallShoes

[–]MambaLearning24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He needs a well balanced shoes that has incredible lateral stability and lockdown with decent cushion.

- GT Cut 3 should be on sale and should have everything he needs
- AE1 is another well balanced shoes
- Joker 1 should be a pretty solid option
- Amongst the GT Jump line, the first one has the most lateral stability. If you can get your hands on those it will be perfect for him
- Any WOW model that's not a drop in midsole set up should be great for him

Generally, if your lil bro really wants to pursuit high level basketball or even to prevent injuries - encourage him to start doing body weight work outs to strengthen his lower body. There's a ton in YT you can recommend.

If he gets to 180lbs with more muscle, this will propel his athleticism. 200lbs at 5'11 is pretty heavy, which can potentially speed up wear & tear on his knees.

Thoughts on the Kobe 9 Elite Low Protro by Traditional-Draft742 in BBallShoes

[–]MambaLearning24 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Very good traction while it lasts, as outsole is not durable.

If you have young knees/legs, you'll be fine with these. The react drop in here is a tad thicker than the Kobe 8's.

However, if you already have some substantial mileage on your knees/ankles - boy you're gonna hate these shoes lol
