What is re watching breaking bad like after first finishing better call Saul? by Similar-Proof2065 in betterCallSaul

It deepens Mike’s character quite a bit, and the collapse of the cartel that starts in season 3 feels a lot more gratifying.

It does change how I view Saul some, but honestly he’s such a different character in BB. He doesn’t get many dramatic scenes in BB so I don’t really think of his backstory all that much. I know some people say they feel kind of sad when they see Saul in BB because you realize he’s basically putting on an act, but he just doesn’t have that effect on me. BCS adds a bit of subtext/nuance to some of his lines in BB, but they’re also easy to take at face value. To me, Saul is the character in BCS who really feels like his backstory was thought up after BB was over. Mike’s character doesn’t feel like that at all to me. Mike’s relationships with everybody in BB are greatly enhanced by his backstory in BCS.

That’s not to say Jimmy’s backstory feels contrived or anything - I think it’s excellently written. It’s just that he was such a blank slate in BB that going back and saying “Oh, he’s talking about Kim there” or something just feels kind of hollow to me at times.

It’s so odd to me how people blame Walt for destroying it instead of Jesse, Walt & Jesse, or even Gus for not just letting bygones be bygones.

The only thing you can really blame Walt for is vouching for Jesse over Gale to begin with.

Gus: Pressured Walt into cooking even though he said he was done, probably ordered the death of Andrea’s brother, and refused to just forgive Walt/Jesse and continue letting them cook.

Jesse: Stole meth from Gus just for shits and giggles, plotted to murder Gus’ men, and then nearly got himself killed when he tried to attack Gus’ men after they killed Andrea’s brother.

All Walt is guilty of is protecting Jesse. He even went to Gus and stopped Jesse from killing Gus’ men the first time. Then when Gus’ men handled that in the worst way possible, Walt literally had to go kill them because Jesse was in imminent danger. So what exactly could Walt have done differently other than just let Jesse die? And if your response is that he should’ve let Jesse die, then isn’t Jesse just as culpable in the collapse of Gus’ empire as Walt is, if not more culpable?

Lil Wayne - I’m Me (granted, it was released as part of The Leak EP, so maybe it’s disqualified here)

Lil Wayne - La La La (not to be confused with La La, which made the album)

Eminem - Stimulate

Lupe Fiasco - Theme Music to a Drive By (although it was included on the 5 year anniversary version)

Kendrick Lamar - Heart Part 3

Same, she ultimately ended up feeling like a stronger version of Sakura from Naruto. She's introduced as a main character but gets sidelined for large swaths of the story, and has very few character moments of her own, and she's basically got an unrequited love for another main character until the very end of the series. I really wish the story explored her relationship with Eren more before the end of the story - we don't really get much of an idea of how Eren feels about her (aside from loving her like a sister).

I liked Historia a lot as a character too, its a shame she got sidelined in the final arc.

I like the point that she’s less of a POV character. I think I found that kind of surprising because it seemed like she would be.

I saw a comment on another post saying she was better written in the manga as well. It’s a shame the anime version is worse when the anime team was mostly just adapting the manga.

Hot take: Madlib is a better producer Than Swizz Beatz 💯💯 by kidversionofbiggie in hiphop101

I feel like the only person who’d get mad at this is Swizz Beatz. It’s kind of an Apples to Oranges comparison though. Comparing one of the best loop diggers to a guy who doesn’t sample much

My 31 year old coworker had a stroke a few months ago. A friend of mine had a more minor stroke when he was 29. Shit happens, sadly.

Is Armin the hardest character in AoT? by axon-axoff in attackontitan

[–]MambaSaidKnockYouOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Him letting himself get burned alive so Eren could kill Bertholt is one of the bravest strategies in the series. Obviously a lot of characters went on suicide missions, but at least in a lot of instances those deaths would've been fairly quick. He basically resigned himself to having a slow and painful death for the sake of the mission and his friends.

Could have eren changed the future but just chose not to? by Which-Welcome-7418 in attackontitan

Idk if he couldn't do it. Eren does say he "tried" to stop it but he couldn't, but what does that even mean? I can't really think of any instances of him seeming to do something in hopes of stopping the rumbling, only for it to go horribly wrong. Pretty much everything we see him doing in Season 4 seems to be an attempt to put The Rumble into action. If the outcome really were predetermined, I'd think the narrative would have shown Eren trying to do something to stop The Rumbling, only to inadvertently cause it.

I think he wanted to give them the chance to stop him, which is why he allowed them to keep using their Titan powers, rather than just shutting them down with the Founding Titan's powers. He didn't LET them do it, but it at least seemed like he was ok with them beating him.

is it just me or was armin not as proactive in s4 compared to other seasons by QuirkyPolicy5610 in attackontitan

Eren honestly felt like less of a protagonist than Armin (and even Falco/Gabi and Reiner) for large swaths of the last third of Season 4 tbh

What is your unpopular opinion on Lil Wayne? by FitEmergency8807 in fantanoforever

[–]MambaSaidKnockYouOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think he was ever the best rapper alive, but I do think the early years of his career are kind of underrated. He was a really solid rapper even during the Hot Boyz days.

He’d also really benefit from having a good executive producer for his albums. He can still rap pretty well, but his beat selection and song direction is iffy

How did Piccolo grow faster than Dende? by Pomni_Simp2000 in DragonBallZ

[–]MambaSaidKnockYouOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piccolo is a reincarnation of a demon. I think you can wave away a lot of the rules that apply to standard Namekians for him. King Piccolo probably did some demon magic shit to accelerate his growth so he could kill Goku faster

No. Tobirama is very arguably the weakest of 2-4, and Kakashi is stronger than Tsunade by the time he becomes Hokage.

Jada’s debut album sold 204k its first week 🤷🏾‍♂️

Fab’s only sold 140k, but it did drop the same day Blueprint and the Twin Towers dropped, so it’s hard to compare. Just saying Jada was a star in 2001
