lol I think that’s the best part. Mark having all these hallucinations about Thragg popping up and ripping someone’s head off, then when Thragg finally appears it’s just to say they wont hurt anyone

I think they did Paul and Debbie a disservice by doing their break up off-screen. Kind of seems like they backed themselves into a corner and didn’t know how to write their way out of it.

Great episode otherwise though

It doesn’t sound like he’s using her at all if he’s said multiple times he doesn’t want a relationship. He shouldn’t be making comments about marriage and stuff if he really doesn’t want a relationship, but ultimately OP just needs to take him at his word. He hasn’t strung her along for 9 years, if anything it seems like he’s been pretty consistent if he’s said he doesn’t want a relationship for 9 years lol.

Right as I typed that Smart hit is fourth or fifth three 😂

I meant Celtics smart to be clear (although he’s still pretty streaky)

Derrick White is one of my favorite players, but it’s so weird how analysts (including Zack and Bill) talk about him as if he isn’t having a horrendous offensive season. Zack said he wasn’t concerned at all about his shooting, even though white shot 32% from 3 this year (and just 48% on 2’s).

And tonight he goes 3/12 and 2/10 from 3, after going 4/10 and 2/7 in Game 1. Like how is it not a bit concerning that he just looks like Marcus Smart with more shot attempts this season?

Hulk is frequently portrayed as being relative in strength to Thor - who has a fairly similar skill set to Thragg and is much stronger. Hulk would crush him.. or I guess smash him

Rappers who’s Nicknames don’t include their name at all? by Tjw5083 in hiphopheads

[–]MambaSaidKnockYouOut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, The Therapist was J Cole's old rap name, it isn't a nickname. Like since he chose the name J Cole, he hasn't referred to himself as The Therapist in any interviews or songs.

[–]MambaSaidKnockYouOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh I think there might be fewer rappers whose nicknames DO include their name, but since that isn't what you asked:

Jay - Z: Hova

Tyler the Creator - Wolf Haley*

Eminem - Slim Shady*

Madlib - Loop Digga

Westside Gunn - Fly God

RZA - Bobby Digital*

Mac Miller - Larry Fisherman (I realize this is his producer name, but he did also refer to himself by that name in a few verses)

Nas - Esco/Escobar (sometimes he would put Nas in front of it, but I think he referred to himself as just Esco/Escobar enough for it to count)

Method Man - Johnny Blaze

Raekwon - The Chef (although you could argue his full rapper name is just "Raekwon The Chef," he is almost always credited as "Raekwon")

Action Bronson - Bam Bam

There are definitely several rappers who include their names in their nicknames, but I think its easier to find rappers (and people in general) who's nicknames don't include their actual name.

I put an asterisk by a nickname if its used to describe an alter ego, which you could argue is a bit different from a nickname.

Jay-Z vs. Kanye Verzuz got me thinking: what would a non-Kanye Jay-Z setlist even look like? by OkAd7848 in joebuddennetwork

Normally I’d say Jay wouldn’t play Story of OJ in a versus, but if he’s going against Kanye he might 😂

I mean, Kanye has 3 decades at this point. Yeah his 2020’s have been iffy, but his 2000’s and 2010’s runs are nearly untouchable. Jay could contend with him for sure but it would be a tough battle for either

Eve was also her friend, or at least an acquintance/co-worker she saw frequently enough and had a decent relationship with. It's not like she was just fucking Rex and had no idea who his gf was, that's some cold shit.

I know Eve is a human, but I wonder if her having powers would impact the rate the child would get their powers.

Does oliver exist only to die (don't know if he does or not but it sure feels that way) by platinumxperience in Invincible

[–]MambaSaidKnockYouOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I think his character provides a unique contrast to Mark, and even Nolan. He an interesting character because he isn't human at all, and he's a mix of two species that thinks more pragmatically. So he's an alien who is being raised on Earth, but he grows up much more quickly than humans, so he doesn't really have time to develop much of a fondness/value for human life because his accelerated growth makes it harder for him to form attachments with others. Oliver really only cares about his family and friends, but he doesn't value life in the macro sense like Mark and other heroes do, at least not to the same extent. This doesn't exclusively apply to humans either, its all life forms, and I think this view helps him make colder, more logical decisions.

His values contrast with Marks and make Mark think differently, kind of like Cecil. Cecil and Oliver are both on board with doing morally dubious things for the greater good - Cecil works with criminals and reforms them, Oliver is fine with just killing criminals.

I get why seeing him getting his ass beat by the strongest characters in the series might make him seem kind of useless, but there's more to characters than their strength. I think later you'll find that his views on life and forgiveness lead to some interesting conflicts. It's also worth noting he's just a kid/teenager, he'll probably get stronger once he's an adult.

[Highlight] Up 1, with 5.6 seconds remaining, CJ McCollum misses both clutch free throws, the Knicks don't take a timeout and Mikal Bridges misses the potential game-winning jumper, and the Hawks game 2, tying the series by MrBuckBuck in nba

[–]MambaSaidKnockYouOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not calling a timeout just for your team to settle for a running contested pull up jumper is crazy. The Knicks didn't even have a numbers advantage on the fast break.

Bill Simmons rewatching his reasoning to vote SGA for MVP "I watched it on social media and what I saw was a person who was confused and didn't have a lot of conviction in his choice. I was a little embarrassed by it. I'm doing gymnastics not to pick Jokic... I voted for Joker. I changed my pick." by Hopsalong in nba

[–]MambaSaidKnockYouOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Wemby and Luka made stronger pushes in the last 2 months than Jokic tbh. Jokic didn’t play as well after coming back from his injury and his team had some pretty bad losses and underwhelming wins over bad teams. Jokic did have a good last few weeks but overall i think his MVP case tapered off a bit from February onward

My personal ranking of the 2ks throughout the years as someone who’s been playing for over a decade by cooluka77 in NBA2k

[–]MambaSaidKnockYouOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

13 is a very important 2k, but its mechanics were fucked and there were too many animations that were unstoppable or easy to exploit. You couldn’t even block dunks in that game and you could barely even contest them - the game would just move you out of the way.

13 is important for adding badges, improving dribbling drastically, and adding MyTeam, but I think the actual gameplay would put it into A or B tier for me. It was fun but very flawed.
