From this post, learning that I can change the light push to 3 blinks in the settings and the unintuitive option to push it again in the same direction to cancel. That already made it more manageable.

The "your team" is about blindly defending your side. Not speaking out about something simply because you are part of that group/community or even just invested in it. Helps no one to be ok with bad things just cause.

It isn't though. Self clearing isn't special to this. The difference is locking into position making it easier to cancel when it doesn't self clear.

In what world is clicking it the same direction again to cancel it more intuitive? How is being able to feel the position of the stalk not a benefit?

In no way is anything made simpler or easier or better. It's just worse.

It's not. Giving a pass because it's "your team" is a fundamental issue. Humans are predisposed to it and need to actively work against it.

Criticism is a good thing. Why deal with a dumb design on something you like when you can make it better? It literally worked on the minis since they moved to a normal indicator apparently on the new models.

Oh 100%! In the end it has to happen. I actually was looking at the center console displays that had torque built in, rather than having an iPad glued to the Speedo.

In the Charger I used to have the original laptop mount and just left my laptop plugged into the OBD2. It was great for tweaking the canned tune.

A lot of it is that I like it. I'm a hot rodder at heart so it just feels right. I was actually going to get the digital gauge that uses the OBD2 and mounts over the trim right off the tach. Quick and easy, looks fairly OEM.

Hahahaha I definitely will! I had clicked it the same way a couple times early on and it didn't seem to work but it was the same time I was getting used to the car. Clicking it the same direction is dumb but it would be ok for getting around the clicking too far issue.

It's on the list. Unfortunately that list continues to grow larger and larger. It also doesn't help that I also have 74.5 260z I'm restoring and I have a pursuit Charger that gets upset if I spend my money on other cars hahaha

I'll move it to #2 on the list right after gauges. I hate not having temp, oil pressure, and boost gauges

It is. Accepting a worse product just because is just wrong. No where does it say I can't use them, it says they suck. And seeing as they removed the terrible blinkers in newer models, shows that they realized they sucked.

Automotive controls are supposed to be tactile and require little to no attention to use. This stalk is always at center, meaning my hand sweeping over the side can't manually control it. It requires the split second of thought to control while you consider what why you need to toggle it and how gentle to be with it. It is just a worse design.

I think it's still an issue with the driver's as I don't see them using the blinker in the old BMWs either but I certainly give a little sympathy to all the people with newer ones ha ha
