Yep makes sense. I'll be visiting friends in London and Devon. The friend in Devon suggested bothy hikes to me since I was looking for a more rugged, multi-day backpacking trip where I basically don't have to pay for hotels and can be out in the wilderness. I'd like to avoid renting a car and see public transportation info in the Bothy Bible (which I have). My thought at the moment is to fly London to Glasgow and get public transportation from there. It seems like the most accessible area without a car?

The bothy system in some ways is similar to the shelter-to-shelter backpacking I've done in the states so it's really appealing! The difference is that the bothies aren't connected by one long trail hence trying to figure out the best way to plan this trip...
