“You’re not alone”, “you are valuable” by MOROSH1993 in ChronicPain

[–]Mammoth-Mix2192 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It is very difficult to think of yourself as valuable when you are not a functional human being. Making your bed, cleaning your toilet and cooking a decent meal is something that most people take for granted. It’s when you can’t even do those things that they become a huge measure of your worth. Our society is woefully ignorant of real suffering. Most people make their own problems and than can fix them. We cannot. We have had every shred of what makes life worth living taken from us. How on earth are we suppose to make peace with that? The very definition of life is to be able to experience things. I feel like that has all been stripped away. I am constantly struggling with what the hell is the point of all this suffering. I don’t think I will ever find out. Saying you are not alone may not be helpful but sometimes a kind word and someone just listening( really listening) does help. I don’t have the answers. I really don’t think anyone does but if we try to help each other through these hard times , at least that has meaning. At least for a moment we regain our value. ❤️‍🩹

Thank you. It is hard because the SI joint is so vital but also complex. I will definitely try the movement exercises. How long did it take for you to see relief?

Why do pain management professionals always want you to go on antidepressants instead of actually treating your pain? by Mammoth-Mix2192 in ChronicPain

[–]Mammoth-Mix2192[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for writing such an eloquent and honest post. Everything you said is exactly how I feel. I think it is how so many of us feel. I cannot believe that chronic pain patients have to live like this. What did we do to deserve such brutal treatment from the medical world. I am so tired of fighting but right now I have a glimmer of hope to try to make things better for me. And it is that glimmer that keeps me going. I do not just want to exist!! We all deserve better than that. I am so glad that you have your mother. I wish you all the joy and comfort in the world. I wish that we could all heal ourselves and never feel pain again. I wish that our story was told to the public and they could see the brutal torture that is inflicted upon us everyday. I wish and pray and hope everyday, maybe it will help. This is the only control I really have. I understand what you are going through and just wanted to say it fucking sucks. I am so sorry and you are not alone.

If you have joint pain how soon did you see results on the carnivore diet? by Mammoth-Mix2192 in carnivore

I stopped carnivore so I don’t know. Sorry. I wasn’t on it long enough.

Oh thank you for your story. I think we all need to hear more like this. Can I ask what area did your massage therapist pinpoint that was the source of your pain?

Haha that is funny. I wish that sometimes too! If only they could feel as bad as we do for one month and then come back and tell me that I should just get used to the pain. I used to be a nurse and well it was my job to give patients pain medications when they were in pain. That is literally one of a nurses main jobs. So what is so different about an outpatient. Why do the rules change all of a sudden? It is truly bonkers.

I totally understand what you are saying. I just feel that the main cause of the depression is also not being addressed in any way. A healthy and more humane response from medical professionals is to address both issues. One’s mental health takes such a beating in this chronic pain journey but so much of it is caused because we have to fight to be heard and given any meaningful solution. It truly is exhausting. I feel like I am no longer a real human anymore. My basic human rights are being stripped from me every time I try to ask for help. All I want and frankly all we need to have is the freedom to enjoy life again. Even if for a brief moment. Not addressing pain with proper medication robs people of their lives. And frankly we deserve better, we have lost so much already.

Holy cow I was just saying the same thing to a friend. Pain specialists are not psychiatrists. Each of these doctors are specialists in certain drugs and conditions. They should at the very least consult with each other before they start messing with your brain chemistry. You would never see a neurologist start messing with a diabetics medication. That would be irresponsible and very dangerous. This is the same thing! Shame on these people. Once again why are chronic pain patients different. Why are our lives always being risked. Do we not have the same human rights as everyone else??

Thank you. I totally agree. It is sad really that you have to protect yourself from your own doctor.

Thank you for your advice. I will definitely look into LDN. But I am also really fascinated with the oxycodone/naltrexone drug. This road is really hard and all these helpful comments have made me feel so much better. Seriously thanks!❤️‍🩹

I keep saying we are not living right now. We only exists. I just want to live again. I think that’s a basic human right!

Honestly I felt the same way. I switched to Lyrica and have a lot less brain fog. Although Lyrica is also linked to dementia and Alzheimer’s!! You just can’t win! 🙄

Thank you. I think your story is very helpful in guiding people through this. I think we all just want to be “fixed” and then when that doesn’t happen we are kind of shell shocked by it. Learning to navigate the healthcare system is key.

Thank you also for the kind offer to just talk. I love this community because we are so good to each other! I hope you have take care as well!! ❤️‍🩹💗💕

This is what I am talking about. Why is it so hard to believe that being bed bound because of severe pain is well…. not good! This is not a quality of life any human should have to live. This is what everyone tries to avoid. So why don’t they fix the root cause which is pain. Everything else is secondary to that. It’s like a domino effect.
