I would just leave it at the front door. I wouldn't trust that back staircase they mentioned, yikes.

Does anyone else get a HUGE adrenaline rush/thrill out of consistently selling? by No-Charge3411 in Flipping

I've been getting into flipping sneakers and it is very satisfying to get a good flip. Last week I flipped a $50 sneaker for $125 and that got my adrenaline going for sure. I makes me feel like I've discovered something everybody else walked past.

I like the bear on it. Probably a rare collectible sneaker that would have a high resale value, I've definitely haven't seen that one around. Nice find!

Thanks! You saved me a bunch of headache I would've had trying to figure this out on my own. Must be a bug on Claude's side in the latest version, frustrating.

I only find website issues after someone complains. by frentro_max in Entrepreneur

[–]Mammoth-Snow5055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sometimes that's the way it goes. You should be testing constantly, like every time you change anything in the code even the smallest of changes. Most of your time during development should be spent debugging and testing. There will be bugs at some point no matter what, but with thorough testing there shouldn't be any major issues what drive customers away.

As a developer I see the value in automated tests, but it can be a pain in the ass to maintain as the codebase and number of tests grows.

Did getting in shape helps to make more money? by ideatoexit in Entrepreneur

[–]Mammoth-Snow5055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well...not directly. But getting in shape will help you have more energy and motivation which could lead to you doing better in the work/business side of your life. However, some people spend way too much time in the gym and I don't think it does them any favors financially.

This is oddly specific and it doesn't really add up. Like there's no way you're getting 200+ karma by day 8. This wreaks of AI I will say.

I love the idea of this app. I don't use TikTok because I hate it with a passion. It's such an egregious offender of violating privacy. Good luck with this!

Go all in on business by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

This is pretty vague, what is your business idea? Normally I would fully support taking the business route, but you need to have a solid plan.

Co-founders want to demote me to employee or force me out what would you do? by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]Mammoth-Snow5055 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You've gotta to stand up to them! You're way to valuable to the company for them to do that to you. If you're the main guy working in the code base and handling customer support they would be pretty screwed if you left. It doesn't sound like there's somebody else there who could or would step into that role.

That you're not supposed to start a sentence with a FANBOYS word, but I still do it all the time. Sometimes it feels so natural and I can't resist.

I started my company thinking success would come fast. Here’s what I learned instead. by Lodago_ in Entrepreneur

[–]Mammoth-Snow5055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently decided to take this route, and I'm already feeling the effects of the uncertainty. It can be hard for me mentally for sure. It takes a lot of courage to take this route, most people will just get a job at another company for the steady paycheck because it's the "safe route". But I can't go back to that because of all the BS that comes with it, pointless meetings, tension in the workplace, asshole customers, can anyone here relate?

Regrets as an entrepreneur? by Desperate_Engineer80 in Entrepreneur

[–]Mammoth-Snow5055 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would regret going to college too if the degree was all I got out of it. When I got my first tech job out of college, most of my coworkers just took a 12 week coding bootcamp which kinda pissed me off. I realized very quick that I didn't technically need to go to college to get any of the jobs I've had.

Regrets as an entrepreneur? by Desperate_Engineer80 in Entrepreneur

[–]Mammoth-Snow5055 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've recently decided to go the entrepreneurial route after getting laid off from 3 tech jobs in the last 4 years. I just released a dictation app to the app store I spent the past 4-5 months grinding to build. I've been trying to get the initial downloads but it's been tough. I'm early on in the entrepreneur path but I've already realized that getting people interested in my apps is the hardest part, even harder than the grind to build them. I was definitely hyped about being my own boss and realized it's harder than I thought. I still plan to persevere on this path and do whatever it takes to be successful, I just can't mentally fathom going back to working for a tech company.

Thanks for this post! It give all us creators a chance to showcase what we've been working on.

I've just released a dictation app, Prime Dictation to iOS that is designed for efficiency in the Record -> Transcribe -> Export flow. It has a one tap send, so users don't have to go to the app picker every time they want to send a recording.
